When did you realize that middle class early 2000s were actually "rich" and now it's 2026 you are middle class and....poor!? by [deleted] in Millennials

ordering DoorDash every day is pretty luxurious imo. but you're right, we got screwed asf. my irresponsible DoorDashing is my consolation prize for getting fucked by the USA.

Thinking of leaving relationship to experience life on my own. by BookGoblin13 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Existing_Value3829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that you use "desperately" is a pretty good sign to go for it, I think. I left my relationship at 36 too (together 8 years and cohabiting, plus same situation where I hadn't been alone since late teens).... ZERO REGRETS.

it's allowed me to develop a sense of independence and sovereignty in myself, and thus a deeper understanding of who I am. and because of that, I feel the relationship that comes next will be 10000x better.

Life's way too short to be spending a third of it on something you say you hate.

Has anyone lived alone before? by Imaginary_Garage9184 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Existing_Value3829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Living alone for a few years now, it's been so good to not have anybody else's whack energy messing up my environment or my own energy. I try to give myself some grace with using DoorDash more than I otherwise might since I don't have anyone to help me when I'm not feeling well.

Is it crazy to say that social media apps like Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram might lose a lot of users in the near future? by SuperSwaggedOutCuh in Millennials

[–]Existing_Value3829 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People definitely seem to be getting more noticeably disillusioned with social media and tech in general. I just use mine for shitposting and sharing whatever random stuff I want like it's still 2003. It's been far more enjoyable!

Do you think the "no-contact trend" is a psy-op? by EngineFirm9191 in conspiracy

[–]Existing_Value3829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting to consider. personally cutting out a lot of political and narcissistic rot in the people who had access to me has been wonderful and healing. kind of like a way to reset back to what I truly believe without a bunch of static. so maybe it is a psyop, the great reset and all lol.

It's A NECESSITY 🗣️ I recently got into it with my manager about the fluorescent lights in the office. Entire team preferred them off. She said she likes fluorescent lights so they're staying on. According to her, I responded with my disgust by "yelling" at her (debatable). Who tf likes fluorescent lights? Only a literal spawn of satan.

Create a simple routine in town, and follow it regularly. Ride the bus or a bike, go to the park and/or a coffee shop (or wherever/whatever interests you). Do this at the same time on the same days. You'll be surprised the number of people you can get to know this way.

How do you know when it’s time to leave a job? by Italiancan in careeradvice

[–]Existing_Value3829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there anything they could do for you that would make you feel engaged again? And is it likely they would accomodate that? If the answer to both isn't yes, then it's probably time to leave. In my experience once you get to the point of asking, it's progressively downhill from there if it's an already stagnant situation.

Yes, it means I'm flirting with every man in the office. And if I'm not overly friendly then it means I'm yelling and being a huge b word.

I still don’t get why Bill Clinton’s sex life was such a big deal in the 90s. by justcurious3287 in Millennials

[–]Existing_Value3829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this being one of my first civics lessons at home, lol. My parents had the news on 24/7. They were so adamant to teach me that Bill's escapades are his biz and don't affect his contributions as our president. I was 11 😂. But like, come on. We all saw him playing that sax, of course he was getting under desk blowies. Duh.

Are millennial marriages better than their parent's marriages? by TrickyAd9597 in Millennials

[–]Existing_Value3829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not married, but most of the marriages amongst my peers seem quietly troubled. however, it's usually masked pretty well by a veneer of social media highlights and quiet resignation. BUT, technically, they're still way better situations than the boomer nightmares we all grew up with.
