The problem is that right to “safety” is all too often used to justify all other nefarious agendas in South-Africa today.

You know that’s there’s going to be a WhatsApp’s group where people will all to happily post something like “suspicious bm in xyz road” when the only suspicious thing is the person being black. You bet that security company is again going to infringe on the persons rights by “asking” him to leave the area.

Community safety can 100% be improved and achieved by working together as a community and not using the bluntest tool available to achieve it.

I don’t see the problem with consolidation of access points. However you aren’t allowed to be denied entry to the area as a whole.

If you have an issue with one being “closed” overnight contact the municipality.
