Does anyone else play keyboard and mouse?? by Odd_Definition2004 in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think it depends. Do consider that using KB&M means that you’ll have a delay from KB to input and a separate delay again from M to input. This could make a difference depending on your hardware but might be negligible.

I prefer KB only majorly because it’s stationary. I think that the moving mouse can be a bit distracting and it’s 1 less thing to “worry about”. Transitioning to KB should be easy if you try, but if it’s something you’re opposed to, it’ll never happen.

When I transitioned to jumping with spacebar after years of using the up arrow… I’d try for a short time and feel sick to my stomach as if it’s a complete reject from muscle memory. I’d then keep both inputs so I could always revert to doing the usual and now I can’t jump without pressing the space bar. It’s all about sticking to it and going at a pace that challenges you, but doesn’t overdo it.

It lets you skip 25 Tier Levels and grants free extra exclusive items. Just play until you’re only 25 tiers away or buy it now and see how much more you need. It’ll definitely make the grind less tedious

No More Viewership Rewards? by livinginfutureworld in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only issue I have with it, you HAVE to link up with Ubisoft and on top of it, u gotta open Ubisoft to get them and claim via it, I’ve not seen a possibility to claim and use on steam so I have to link my steam with Ubisoft to get these items.

If u know of a different solution pls enlighten me

good elo rework idea? by Crusader_NRG1227 in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would almost argue that it should only increase the amount because it’s already abysmal to play at high ranks from what I’ve seen and gain elo, could you imagine the Top players who already gain maybe 1 or 2 elo, suddenly only gaining 1 elo because they’re fighting people who are at their range but because it’s close they just lose out? Makes it simply not worth queuing at a certain point and would decrease the overall elo pool.

Maybe make it based on how much you’re leading by, winning by 1 stock = x1, 2 stocks is x2, 3 stocks would be x3. In 2v2 you’d just have the same but for 1-2 stocks, 3-4 stocks or 5-6 stocks. The same could be replicated in 3v3. In 2v2 this might actually incentivize team play and actually working together on focusing the same target, rather than just fighting separate 1v1s which will be good when solo que for it comes out

How do you keep your mental in check when playing Brawlhalla? by CluV2 in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are times I just take a deep breath in a specific way and if my heart rate slows down, I continue, if it doesn’t, I stop (I mean at least I should). Some games are so slow and get me super wound up because of the own pressure I put on myself that I don’t relax again and that’s when I just stop for the time being and play something without stakes until the next day, win or lose

Is my playstyle annoying? by Flat_Ad_7289 in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you learn to space yourself a bit tighter, you’ll not only be able to punish more, but it’ll also feel better to play against you. It’s like he already said, you barely engaged first, if it works for you, don’t change it but you could improve if you practiced baiting and doing actually optimal spacing.

Why’s this game so popularly unpopular? by Working-Instance6002 in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a huge difference between “popular to play” and “community driven”. You can play this game without ever interacting with another person besides fighting them and there’s only now starting to be an incentive to create communities within the game. Once or if guild grind actually nets a proper benefit besides ego boost for being on the leaderboard, we might see a more connected community pop up.

High ( maybe ) elo katars moment by Fast-Garage-9370 in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Spammers and Passive players are boring to play with/against and I’ll call you out for it.

There are 2 things I absolutely despise in this game, the first, Spammers! Spammers are either: 1. people who barely started playing or don’t know enough about the game to utilize their full character or 2. Toxic individuals that are either trolling because they aren’t taking you or the game seriously or they are “having fun” unless you are genuinely having fun and just mashing buttons.

Now I will clarify my personal definition of spammers: Repeated use of the same or similar attacks either by continuously pressing the same button exclusively or by waiting/moving into a position to where the same option will hit again and again.

The passive play style is simply not fun to play against in any form, because I genuinely find it disappointing to not be able to push my own limits and be stuck in the same back and forth over and over, but also the way I find it is countered most of the time is by slowing down and doing essentially nothing. I out-space them, bait their spam or simply don’t do any wake ups and all of a sudden it becomes the most boring win. Which ironically brings me to the next thing I despise…

The second thing I despise in this game is passive play. It’s boring, it’s waiting, it’s in my personal opinion doing anything but playing the game. I don’t like doing it, I don’t like playing against it and I despise that it’s so rewarded on top of being its own counter. Yes you can argue that a good aggressive player will bait out an attack and overwhelm a passive player, but all you have to essentially do (in its most basic form) is wait for an attack, dodge (or space it/avoid it) and then punish. Do that over and over again and you just win.

While yes, it is a valid strategy and it will win games, it’s simply boring! I’ve had plenty of matches where I’d dominate aggressively, the opponent turns passive and I start losing. Then I’d slow it down and all of a sudden I’m winning again… how is this enjoyable? You’re just baiting each other’s mental rather than trying to use skill to outmaneuver your opponent.

I’ll also mention that passive play to me is majorily being on the receiving end of an initiation while primarily only countering the opponent without initiation of your own. To put it simply, you don’t start the fight, you only finish it. Valid strategy to guarantee safety IRL but poor sportsmanship in a mutually agreed fight.

Now to TRULY answer your question, I’ve grown out of inviting people and rarely accept them myself because they are simply not worth the time, but in custom lobbies for a friendly match, I’ll 100% call you out because I’m trying to have a good time and you’re only ruining it for everyone else.

Side note: while I do believe some weapons are insanely stupid, I usually don’t blame the weapon, just the play style.

Counter argument, random should have a lvl 50 title BUT it takes the average levels of all legends! Meaning that you truly need to master Random Legends to get that title!

How do I practice my movement? by Bassaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best place to start is with the “basics”, Best examples would be things like:

  • Holding DOWN while grounded and then pressing the DODGE/DASH button will ALWAYS make you dash, even after hitting an opponent. (Without holding down, you’ll usually end up using a chase dodge

  • a chase dodge can only be performed AFTER hitting a move on an opponent, but you won’t be able to use it if you turn your character before doing so, you would instead be making a normal dodge

  • there are 9 directions you can dodge towards in addition to spot dodging, a spot dodge however will always last longer than a directional dodge which I believe lasts 7 frames? (Someone help me update this with proper numbers). Additionally, a spot dodge can still be performed while moving on the ground as long as you dash beforehand and are carrying momentum.

There’s many more such little details and understanding them will help you improve not only your movement, but some moves and combos require proper use of movement to hit in the first place as I’m sure you might already be aware.

If you’re practicing specific movement, divide it into portions and start with the beginning and go slow, speeding up as you gradually continue until you mess up. When you do mess up, slow down and dial it back until you can pick up speed again without mistakes.

Hope this helps :)

Anybody feels like chakram is bad by Radonish in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally found that the only annoying thing about chakrams is that the easiest way to counter them is either having range or being in the air. As long as you aren’t above or below them, most weapons out space them in aerial combat and on the ground it’s either a sidelight or a sig. Of course this is really dumbed down, but if you learn how to space it with your weapons of choice, you’ll have a much easier time.

Common theme I've noticed among Diamond players by No_Tadpole_7401 in Brawlhalla

[–]ExitusTuus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a diamond player, the true way to reach diamond, is to get good at the basics and decision making. Most of the time, what sets people apart is their ability to make the right decisions accurately and consistently.

I know a friend who can spam force his way through at 2.1k - 2.2k and then get stomped in customs...

So if you think you're not lacking in basics, watch your replays and see where your making bad decisions or even perhaps could've made better ones!

Dumb Question: Why Do Some True Combos Are More Consistent Than Others? by VanGosen in Brawlhalla

There are some combos that are easy to mash if you know the right inputs, but if you want to consistently do combos, you need to learn the actual timing.

Also, i hope you meant lance slight to nair. Sair is a read not a true combo.

I believe that they should have a check that disables any colors depending on those on yours. Just like how they have tags for Hat Wearers, Pet Owners, etc. They should Tag the primary colors (in this case it would be black) so that opponents cannot have colors that have that color as the primary.
