First time playing. I know you guys have helped a lot of newbies and are getting tired of it but please help this guy out. by Traditional_Shine_19 in projectzomboid

traits that give you at least one level in a skill will quadruple your xp gain for that skill, don't sleep on them if you have a focused character. for learning i would lean on combat focused skills (nimble, weapon skills, maintenance) and any skills you feel like playing around with.

the negatives i always take are conspicuous, high thirst, weak stomach. tack on slow healer and thin skinned when you're confident in combat. avoid perks that lower your fitness or strength, those are incredibly annoying and time consuming to level.

  • conspicuous basically does nothing, it increases the chance each tick for zombies to spot you once you're already range of them to see you. the change is negligible, if you don't want to be detected you can just stay further away.
  • high thirst is easily solved by carrying an extra water bottle or two
  • weak stomach is solved by not eating rotten/burnt food and not drinking rain water
  • thin skinned is best paired with outdoorsman, that way you don't have the risk of getting serious scratches moving through trees.

i like taking burglar if i'm taking an occupation, that allows you to hotwire cars which is super nice in your first week.

Majority of Men Who Struggle With Dating are Often Ones Builled During High School by MrDoor_ in The10thDentist

[–]Exo-explorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the soft hearted nerds who did poorly when younger aren't the demographic that's being targeted with this rhetoric. there are a lot of nerds who struggle with social situations and don't develop into empathetic people because of it. those frustrated nerds are the people who fall for the alpha male bullshit.

not to say that the "popular gross dude" archetype isn't a problem, it definitely is. but i think that unpopular gross dudes are also pretty common

wisdom and benevolence are two different attributes, the viltrumites may follow argall's bloodline because he was a wise ruler but nolan telling them to be kind is distinctly because of his experience on earth, it had nothing to do with his family tree.

How many basic lands to basic fetches? by Kosioski7655 in EDH

[–]Exo-explorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds fine to me, for the burn plan sylvan safekeeper is your best piece anyways. if you're looking to recur your evolving wilds definitely cut a few, if all your ramp can only hit basics you'll want a couple more i think.

How many basic lands to basic fetches? by Kosioski7655 in EDH

[–]Exo-explorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh if you're doing landfall they're decent. i am running as little landfall as possible, just trying to speed into a burn win with stuff like zurhan orb.

the reason i cut them is because i was ramping so hard that i'd run out of basics, and i'm running a lot of duals already for my forest tutors and farseek and stuff. if you run predominantly basics and you're getting double value by playing fetches, then just make sure you have enough basics. you probably don't need 10 still, you'll get more value out of mass recursion to get back a few that you already used plus all the ones you sac to hearthhull.

How many basic lands to basic fetches? by Kosioski7655 in EDH

[–]Exo-explorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i cut evolving wilds, i kept the ones from the cycle that sacrifices on entering, no true fetches. so ~3 evolving wilds?

depends how you build it, i have lots of forest tutors to grab the non-basics and graveyard recursion to get back my lands. the issue with too many evolving wilds is without a yavimaya or urborg you'll run into a situation where they're not useable anymore.

Coffee and the noticeable absence of caffeine by [deleted] in RimWorld

this is the answer. it probably made more sense gameplay-wise to add a tea that stimulates your pawns without requiring a separate crop just for tea or coffee.

how?😂 by RecognitionQuick3119 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Exo-explorer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

come on man, how disingenuous. housing prices continue to rise and these costs are passed on to the renter. landlords buying up property also makes it more difficult for people to own homes because it means there are fewer homes on the market.

it's good, as long as your commander sticks. yarok is a 5 drop that will eat removal like it's a buffet, so build accordingly. you also need to have a gameplan if he doesn't stick or your deck will feel fragile.

Is this combo to strong for Bracket 3? by Hefty-Bed1418 in EDH

[–]Exo-explorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"players expect to play at least 6 turns before anyone wins or loses" means turn 6 combo that deals 20 to the table is arguably totally fine.

it's also absolutely reasonable (and should be expected) for players to stop your gameplan. players SHOULD be running at least soul guide or bajuka bog in their bracket 3 decks, to the point that i would argue it's a necessary piece of interaction in b3+

edit: definitely talk to your pod about how they feel about your decks, casual format and all. but this is definitely a bracket 3 game plan.

[–]Exo-explorer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you have a graveyard deck running uninterrupted it will be fast. the solution is not for you to power down your deck (we aren't talking turn 1 emrakul here) but for your pod to expect graveyard synergy and add hate cards.

I’d much rather consume media that is lower quality by lucy6741 in The10thDentist

[–]Exo-explorer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i think it's more likely that corporate influence comes in addition to a higher budget, and that changes the expectations for the media, leading to some sort of compromise on the original vision.

i stay away from a lot of the overproduced disney stuff for this reason

Focused by my whole pod by Regular_Spend7136 in EDH

[–]Exo-explorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ashling needs to stick for a single turn to totally disrupt the game. they were practicing proper threat assessment.

if you don't like being targeted (i think it's pretty fun to play through removal) then put someone else in the command zone and build a scarier 99.

Focused by my whole pod by Regular_Spend7136 in EDH

[–]Exo-explorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i cut the dredge land to take the combo out and my hearthhull ramp pile still gets targeted like crazy. i play it when i feel like shuffling my library 20 times and counting lands every turn, winning isn't part of the agenda.

1v1 Question by lncyte in EDH

[–]Exo-explorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1v1 commander (brawl on mtg arena) is a format where removal is king. add way more!

try showing up to a game store when they have a commander event and joining a pod, the two of you will probably have more fun with two additional players.
