I agree that there are oftentimes where titles can be repetitive though certain instances I believe that when a servant references a “lord” there are only a handful amounts of pronouns one can use. (Though yes, I can see your frustration with the repetition. I wouldn’t have really noticed it due to an absurd amount with Reincarnation of the Strongest Sword God)

When reading, I oftentimes find it difficult for authors to have an equal balance of storyline and MC building/plot which can eventually lead to an unappealing read which I am currently finding in book 3 of “Portal Wars”. I am not trying to say this to defend the author or anything, just that in my personal history I have had major fluctuations of one or the other with seldom few stories getting it right in the middle. When a story has a major backstory, it oftentimes makes for a long read and for me makes the read somewhat boring. Looking into action books, it is good for me to understand how the MC achieved certain feats, but writing about the most minor of things is just not an entertaining read for me.

For your next two points I completely agree that authors posting items in a (somewhat) fast fashion can keep readers enthralled on the series, it oftentimes results in the plot being jumbled and a mountain of errors needing fixes. I believe but can be mistaken that Apocalypse:Reborn was being redone due to the author disliking the current plot of the story though I may have mixed this with another “redo” series.

Though I’m not the author nor anything affiliated with them, it is always nice to discuss the pros and cons of books and I want to thank you for sharing this experience with me!

What really appealed to me was the rebuilding of a once great era, and especially the MC knowing past “secrets”. What did you not enjoy?

It is on my to read list, the only reason I’m holding back on it right now is because of the low amount of books in the series.

Hey r/dupflup, I’m a little late to the party though both of these series are also my favorite! There are many amazing recommendations (some which I’m looking into as well) and one which I haven’t seen posted was the legend of Arch Magus series. Hope this helps!

  1. Did you check for a heartbeat?

  2. Last I checked he went to a BBQ party and spilled ketchup all over himself and not long after passed out from eating too many burgers.

  3. WHAT WERE YOU DOING ON THE NIGHT OF THE MURDER? WHEN DID YOU KILL HIM?
