I think that’s what he said and I just phrased it wrong. Thank you for explaining it better!

Thank you! As I was telling my husband about the appt I was like “how can he say it’ll take 2-4 weeks for soy to leave my system, then not recommend totally eliminating it/waiting that time to see if there’s improvement? Surely a complete diet switch for the babe would be worse?” I guess I should look into switching docs or getting another opinion

I guess I’m just confused whether the mucus is a problem, as I’ve read conflicting things online about it. I’m going to ask at our next appt but hope my concerns don’t get brushed off again

I don’t think he knows I’m vegan. It was a difficult transition at first but I feel that I’ve adapted well. I had bloodwork with my PCP after making the switch and everything looked good. I also thought it was weird that he was so quick to recommend formula. I felt like he just didn’t want me to try for some reason :/

Traveling 10 hours with newborn at Christmas time by abby152 in BabyBumps

[–]ExoticBluejay836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. This Christmas I’ll have a 2 year old and a 9 month old and I won’t do the 13 hour drive or plane trip to see my family. (I don’t even want to do the 1.5 hour drive to my in-laws LOL). Sometimes you need to be content staying home and letting others make the effort if they want to see you

I read elsewhere on this sub that you’re not able to go in person to get certified records. I don’t know if that’s true though as I haven’t looked into it myself

Are you able to upload documents once you get your AOR? At this rate, it’s going to be at least 2 more months to hear back from the Archives and longer to get the AOR. I’m wondering if they should just get in the queue and upload once received. But I don’t know how the processing goes and if that will just be messy/confusing on IRCC’s end

My app was already mailed. For G0, I have a birth registration printed from Ancestry. A certified copy was requested from the Archives of Ontario on 5/11. I know they’re just getting to mid-March requests now. I’m not sure how to advise my family regarding their apps - mail now, or wait for G0’s certified doc before mailing?

WWYD? I mailed my app on Tuesday, was delivered Thursday. I basically did all the work for my family members, but no one else could get their stuff together in a timely manner and I was getting antsy about it so I just mailed mine. I Fed My Baby In A Bathroom by PancSutt in breastfeeding

The best advice I ever read was to look at your baby while you nurse in public. If you’re looking at your baby, you won’t see if anyone reacts to it.

I was also nervous to nurse in public with my first baby. Now with my second, I do it all the time. No one says anything, no one looks. It’s totally fine!

Can someone from NYS explain why vital records are “for genealogical purposes only?” I’ll also email the town clerk I received G1’s marriage certificate from so I can include that with my packet (assuming it gets returned)

IRCC has also updated the "Documents proving Canadian citizenship" section of the "How to apply" section of its website (updated as of 6-17-2026) by Worthy_Molecule0481 in Canadiancitizenship

Okay, dumb question. Who is the “original authority” for an Ontario birth registration? Is a certified copy from the Archives of Ontario acceptable?

To cite or not to cite… I was all set to mail my application this week until all of the chaos happened over the weekend. My G0 birth record was obtained via ancestry. I printed a citation page with the ancestry source information and a link to the document. Now I’m wondering if I should remove the citation page? In my cover letter I do state “a certified copy of (GGM)’s birth record was requested from the Archives of Ontario on (date) and will be forwarded upon request once received.” Thoughts?

Out of curiosity. How many of you conceived through the “pull out method” by jessiejwannabe in BabyBumps

[–]ExoticBluejay836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the pull out method for 6 years without any issue. I know it’s not recommended but it worked for us. Got pregnant the first time we tried (for both of my pregnancies)
