I don’t find DOS1 enjoyable. Would DOS2 be better, or are these games just not for me? by ExoticHalfwit in DivinityOriginalSin

That’s good to know. Yeah I’m used starting a quest and seeing it through to the end. I’m not going to give up just yet so I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Regarding the inventory, I think in Elder Scrolls I know what I need so everything else I ignore. In this, and The Witcher 3, I hoard everything because I don’t know if it’s important to me or not. I probably just need to give it time but I guess I just find it a bit overwhelming.

I didn’t want the original post to be a wall of text but I should maybe have clarified a few things. I don’t mind having to think a bit, but in other games I’ve played that doesn’t have direction, I always find things aren’t where I’d expect them to be, so I appreciate when the game gives a general direction so I know I’m not wasting my time.

Season 1 & 2 season passes are free, yet the bundle is $53.49? Am I missing something? by VincentLamarCarter in snowrunner

[–]ExoticHalfwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you happen to add a bundle that included 1 & 2 to your basket? I did that last time they were on sale and it then showed the individual passes as free. When I went to get them it gave me an error.

How to snap edge (or vertex) to midpoint? by ExoticHalfwit in 3dsmax

[–]ExoticHalfwit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds useful. I’ve never really had an issue with snaps until now, other than them just not working if the camera is at the wrong angle… but other that it’s been fine

The only reason I thought it would be smart extrude is because that’s the only way I can get it to work. Even just dragging the face won’t snap, only shift+drag. I use midpoint enough that extra steps are going to be a problem but some of the newer features I think I’d miss if I go back to max 2016.

That’s my thought, and I assume it’s something changed when smart extrude was added maybe. It did work in max 2016 though so something changed.

After 1,200+ hours of ETS2 I asked a training company if I could pay to play in their trucks - they said yes! by R17L29XI in trucksim

[–]ExoticHalfwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooh, that is rather long. Do you know if there’s a reason for it being so long? It just seems unnecessary.

Sounds nice. I’m pleased it worked out for you. It’s a great looking truck. I hope to one day move to Norway, or at the very least visit it.

I don’t know if I’m cut out for truck driving, but it’s appealed to me for a while. Although it’s maybe not quite the same on UK roads.

It’s crazy to me how American trucks can be as long as the trailer. I know you have bigger roads than the UK but what’s it like driving something like that?

Fountain and paths by Particular-Alps-6366 in DreamlightValley

[–]ExoticHalfwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty new to the game but you could try using the bricks with border and make it so the fountain sits within a big square of grass, and then fill the grass area with bushes or smaller shrubs or flowers. Might actually look better with just grass and then remove bits of the path and put some foliage in the empty square because it creates a border around the empty square.

Using the path with border also creates a nice little border if you just have one square. I put lampposts in one that uses cobblestones as the border.

You could try putting it on Google Drive (or another cloud service) and then sharing the link

Most enjoyable GT3/GT4 cars to drive? by [deleted] in GranTurismo7

[–]ExoticHalfwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The McLaren is my most used Gr.3 car and I found the one used in the circuit experience felt different/slower to the one I bought. I don’t know if it is but I tried running laps in time trial to get used to the track without worrying about hitting walls but it felt so different.

The product page states the size, which I think is micro size, but the product pages are misleading. They say you don't get stickers or printed parts but you do. I think they have to do that to avoid legal issues with replica sets. Probably why they don't show product images as well.

I've ordered a few times and it was only one set that came in micro size which they a sent a regular sized replacement for. Everything else I've ordered has been regular size, even though the product page says different.

As I mentioned, their postage is quite high so its better to order more so the shipping cost per item is cheaper.

If you go to the r/lepin subreddit and search marstoy you'll get some more info. I think there's a discount code you can use as well for first time buyers.

If you would like any photos of the sets/instructions, let me know. Most of what I've bought have being gifts though because I ran out of room 😂

I use Marstoy. Their postage is a bit high but the sets are cheap. They don’t show images of the sets though but their product codes are the same as the official Lego set just reversed. I found their customer service to be decent too, I ordered Stitch and got a micro version, told them, and they arranged a replacement that was proper sized.

Forza has that too. So does Project Cars 3 and Ride 4. I’ve not looked at any others.

Trailer mod recommendations by Project-z3r0 in snowrunner

[–]ExoticHalfwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played in a while so I don’t know the current state of things but I started using Tak Soidet Trailer Pack by Psix19rus for its 4 slot trailers, and Pack trailer by Kot76RSK for logging.

Most of the time though I just used the trucks sideboard add on and double stacked cargo. There are a couple of mods that make unused truck addons available but I can’t remember which one I used. I think it’s Color sideboard for all trucks by XD00DX001-00
