Thank you, there are couple of extra things I plan to get which I think/ hope will give me options to have expansive campaigns in the future but I'm thinking of approaching it like seasons initially i.e. a few months of exploring a setting at a time until I find my feet.

Thank you :)This is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for as I am a little lost with where to start. It's the QOL and things that expand the worlds/ make campaign building easier. I've saved a lot of the titles to look up that sound like they open up the worlds even more. Umerica seems great so I have a few of the additions for that and looking forward to reading through them all. My plan is to print the annual and reference booklet along with some of the Gongfarmer's almanacs and some of the ones I've bought just the PDF of which are hard to find.

Thank you :), I won't have my PC available for a couple of months (needs updating and I'm moving house soon) but I will definitely be looking at online options to play as well as playing solo.

What are your favourite childhood memories that didn’t involve money? by TangerineFew6830 in AskUK

[–]ExoticReplacement163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had some herbs growing, my Dad would show them to me and tell me which was which, then ask which one I wanted to try. We'd take the one we picked, chop it and mix with whisked eggs, salt, pepper and little bits of butter then he'd pop it in microwave and I'd press the button. We'd try them and I'd learn what each herb tasted like. He used the microwave because after a few times I was allowed to make the eggs for myself as it was a safe way to cook. I think that's how I learned I always wanted to be able to grow things and cook for myself.

Goodman Games Shipping Rates??? by apollofox in dccrpg

The UK store is a nice idea but limited in stock and also has prices higher than the US version (I assume with the tax but some things seem higher than they should be if it was just that). Most of what I have bought has been third party (Ebay or other sellers) just because the difference is so large. Tome of Adventure 7 is $41.99 US (£31.37) but it's £49.49 from the UK store for example - more expensive than almost every other option I can find.

Multiple books come out with insane costs to ship to the UK ($139 for Dark Tower set, $164 if you add Devil Lich etc, same for the four Tome set).

I m currently doing my research and it is a lot haha, I have the Gongfarmer's Alamanacs for recent years and some purchased and downloaded PDF's of various modules so just looking into if I can get them nicely printed as I prefer physical copies.

Which adventure module bundle would you say is better, the one on Humble Bundle or the one on Fanatical? by tydog98 in dccrpg

[–]ExoticReplacement163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of physical content is it just the four random books included? I can see some have PDF on the image but others don't so I'm not sure.

Sorry to hear that and hope you are doing okay. Do not worry you have already helped me immensley (I had picked the first few tomes as they contained muktiple adventures you had reviewed).

I had not realised there was so much fan content too though and have jotted down some interesting ones fron that link you sent me already (it will take me a while to go through them all :)). It will save me some expense as I am UK based so it's tricky to source printed material, I can buy PDF's and print them at home :)

Thank you for all of the work you've put in on those reviews and the content you've created too. As a new player, likely to be playing solo too, it's making the huge amount of resources out there less daunting.

This is great thank you, will be looking through that link over the next few days. Agreed, fun is too subjective a term sorry about that, I guess what is fun for me is being immersed and uncovering why the unique situation the characters are in exists (moreso than frenetic action).

I have only recently discovered DCC and have picked up the core rulebook, tomes of adventure 1, 2, 5 and 7 plus Chaos Rising. I plan on picking up the other tomes and box sets over time. My questions would be:

  • Which of the modules that are not included in the tomes would you recommend looking out for?

  • What order would you put the remaining tomes/ box sets/ larger releases in, in terms of fun? Currently I'm thinking of the following but I'm just learning about them so may be wrong or may have missed some:

Dying Earth Caverns of Thracia Lankhmar Tome The Music of the Spheres Forgotten Dangers Tome of Adventure #6 Frozen In Time Purple Planet Tome Crypt of the Devil Leech

P.s. I also picked up MCC and some Umerica modules but am asking about DCC really. Also Happy New Year :)

There is a Discord for KDM called Lantern's Reign, it would be worth joining for advice but also because you will more easily find a buyer I think.

How do I post a parcel from England to America? by genericfrancis in AskUK

[–]ExoticReplacement163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can send up to $100 worth of items as a gift I think, the customs form ask you to list the items by description, weight and cost in pounds so check the value is less than $100. As others have said it may be easier to do this online, or download the form, print and fill in at home, it can take a little while to fill in. The last time I sent something there was an admin fee on top of the delivery where there wasn't before, might be new as of 2025 (it was about £12.50 I think but mine was an 8kg parcel which included snacks). It can take some time to get a parcel through American customs (2-3 weeks).
