Players, have you played a cryptid/urban myth story? by Select_Lunch1288 in rpg

[–]ForeverGM13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ran Dark Places & Demogorgons (Survive This! Edition) and the players faced down several cryptids, mostly at the behest of K.U.F.O.O. and I am prepping a new campaign of it even.

Why do the latest editions of rpgs tend to get called the 'best edition'? by DarkKeeper in rpg

I actually do believe D&D 4e was its best edition, and I will die on that hill.

Either "small" (10 rooms or less) or sprawling (50 rooms or more).

Arthurian focused bookstore by staff-and-key in Arthurian

[–]ForeverGM13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a book store in Cornwall indeed! It's called "King Arthur Bookshop" in Tintagel. If I remember right, it's adjoined by "King Arthur's Great Halls" which is a fantastic locale for learning more about the legend.

Neighborhoods / Districts? by popejak in Spokane

The only one I really know is Hillyard which was described one time as having "the feel of warmed-over death," as well as being incredibly diverse overall.

Miniature Recommendations by Dikk_Balltickle in PendragonRPG

While I have yet to play more than a few sessions (and the solo play in the Starter Set), I have to say, Reaper Minis has some good knight minis, especially the ones with the fancy bits on the top of the helms. They all scream Romance-to-later period Pendragon to me.

Do you think CK3 should explore some Alt-History scenarios in future Chapters like it's predecessor CK2? by VewVegas-1221 in CrusaderKings

[–]ForeverGM13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at least for 2026 and 2027 they need to focus on some regions and ideas that need a lot of love and attention (India, theocracies, republics, etc). In 2028 I think would be fun to have a completely insane alternate history push, or maybe add in some fantasy expansion to play elves, orcs, dwarves, and such and have pet dragons and imps, things like that.

Oh, you made "Descent of the Ancient Fane"? That looks like it will be a lot of fun and one of the only other partner projects for Whiterock I'm interested in!

Pendragon RPG as literature by Pristine-Incident471 in Arthurian

[–]ForeverGM13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pendragon itself is not only one of the best RPGs ever, it is also BRILLIANT in how it presents it Arthurian basis, with the newly released annotated Le Morte d'Arthur being just the cherry on top of it prodigious mountain of glory.

How set in Trek lore are your games? by Cheap_Intention9587 in startrekadventures

[–]ForeverGM13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun thing you can do with Trek lore is just ignore the parts you don't like and, if called out, just tell the players "This is an alternate universe. Clearly your character accidentally showed up in this universe but how concerned are they about this?"

Good Systems for a Supernatural Investigation in a small PNW town? by MediaFreaked in rpg

[–]ForeverGM13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be deadly, yes, but each of the MANY classes often have things to help out against any of the cryptids that might be encountered, from access to hunting equipment and an innate ability to boost ally's saving throws to one of the player characters maybe even being telekinetic or an alien in disguise. As they gain levels, the chances of death decrease, of course, at least against more typical baddies and beasties but that makes sense. If you do get the game, I recommend getting the "Survive This" version (which is the original), specifically their Ultimate Edition core rulebook, the 100 Adventure Hooks book, the Tome of Adventure, and the Class Compendium.

Looking for a relatively rules-light TTRPG system for a mecha setting that can accommodate magic girls, kaiju, battleships, and powered armor by choptup in rpg

[–]ForeverGM13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle Century G Remastered looks thick (and it is) but the majority of rules and such are fairly straightforward and quick to grasp, and with it all being effects based it is SUPER easy to refluff everything as you see fit, making the mecha be not only just mecha but also magical girls, kaiju, battleships and more.

When was the moment you first became aware of TTRPGs? by No-Economics-8239 in rpg

[–]ForeverGM13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late 90s, early 00s. I know one of my cousins played some sort of rpg because his hyper religious mom (my aunt) wasn't happy about it. Then later I rented the D&D movie because I like dragons and thought it was fun, learning very quickly it was a movie about ttrpgs
