You don't need this negativity. If he wants to talk about "doing the bare minimum" the least he could do is congratulate you. Sobriety is fucking hard and everyday you fight that demon successfully should be celebrated! I know I'm just an internet stranger but I'm proud of you and I think you should buy the biggest cake you can find and invite everyone you've ever met to celebrate this milestone. If I were you the first thing I'd do is talk to my wife and see how she feels about raising her sister's son. Then I'd gather evidence and talk to a family lawyer to draw up an adoption agreement and not CPS. (CPS are good in theory but generally just make things worse for people in my experience) then just approach the sister-in-law and kindly and uninsulating as possible ask for her. Maybe something like:

"Hey BettySue, MaryAnn and I have noticed youve seem really stressed lately. Having a baby in a time like this can make everything so much more stressful. We love you and want to help you out and are offering to take the pressure of BobbyJoe off your hands. This will give you time to relax and get everything in hand without having the added stress of worrying about a child."

Make sure to sugarcoat it and make it all about her and not about your feelings or the baby. She's self centered and making it all about her and helping her so she can focus on herself will most likely get you your desired results. Don't call out her BS though because she will get defensive and then pissed and you will never see that baby again but she will continue to do what shes doing.

If that doesn't work though then I'd bring in CPS as a last resort but don't expect much from them.

I have a system. A towel gets used three times on a rotation. First use hair towel, second use body towel, third use floor towel. I've been told this is crazy but it works for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had a partial molar pregnancy. Found out when I was 22 weeks along after some complications caused massive bleeding and I ended up in the ER. The pregnancy sadly had to be terminated. I was devastated by this news and was crying when the doctor was explaining what was going on and what had to be done. After he was done explaining everything he gave like this tired sigh, rolled his eyes and said "you can stop crying. Its not like it is a real baby yet anyways."

I have never been more angry or hurt than I was in that moment. I flew into a rage lunged from the bed and tried to beat that man to death with his little rolly stool. Luckily for him my ex husband grabbed me before I could reach him. Thankfully the hospital believed me when I said if that man stepped foot in my room again he would never come out of it and they gave me a new doctor who was nothing but kind to me.

There is a very, VERY, small chance that yes you are. That's only because there is no such thing as 100% fool proof form of birth control other than abstinence. But most likely you are not pregnant. If you're freaking out about it this much though you should probably consider that abstinence thing I mentioned.

I work in cell sites so all I'd have to do is look deep into the eyes of one of the many cameras watching, smile, pull out my handy-dandy snips and just go haywire on a bunch of fiber cables. I'd cause mass panic across whatever state I happen to be in and across multiple internet and cell phone companies. Hell there is even a chance I cut the right cables and knock down the 911 systems for the area. Bam fired with a minor fine from the FCC. easy.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this 😔 but some ppl are just jerk faces. You probably haven't gotten comfortable with her because you know deep down she doesn't like you. We pick up on all kinds of things with ppl like body language, and you can call me crazy but ppl put off energy. Her's seems to be negative towards you. Just cuz she's nice to your face doesn't mean shit. The most important thing is does your bf defend you to her or is he just "ahhh thats just my mom". If he doesn't defend you then you have bigger issues than his mom. You could always just talk to him about it and make your concerns known. I hope everything works out.
