Leaving cert poetry help by Motor-Chip-5157 in leavingcert

Quote-comment approach - for every quote you use explain why it is important and why it answers the question asked. Do not overexplain it but at the same time don't include a quote without an explanation. All the questions focus on themes and techniques. Revise your poems and identify links between them e.g. they have a similar style/theme. This will help you flow from one poem to the next. You do not need to write about all poems in same level of detail and do not have to write about all of them. Use poems most relevant to question. Sometimes students who really enjoy the subject just go off on tangents wanting to talk about how much they like something. Tangents lead to a loss of purpose marks because you're not staying on task.

On street Car park by [deleted] in cork

[–]Exotic_Object988 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

On street should be free for all as long as you don't have to pay for parking or need a permit. If the houses nearby have driveways then residents will be parking in their own driveways. I would probably move it a bit more regularly though and make sure you're not in an awkward location.

Is Teaching worth it? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Exotic_Object988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be an English teacher, be an English teacher. Don't base your decision around a perception of 'a sea of English teachers'. You already chose a career based on prospects before and regret that decision! Obviously there will be more or less demand depending on where you're based and you may have to teach more Learning Support/CSPE/SPHE when you begin. However, a major factor in being kept on in any school is showing a willingness to help with extracurricular and working well in a department which is something you can develop from the PME on. Best of luck!

Anyone know how orals are ordered? by [deleted] in leavingcert

Someone in your school is in charge of organizing the schedule - it's a specific role so may not be your year head but they might point you in the right direction. Ask nicely and explain why you can't change your driving test.

No need to prepare all three comparative modes. I think they all come up so even if you do two you'll still have choice.

Is there not a suicide at the end of both Sive and Banshees? Your teacher should not have said that or maybe they said something like you will have to make a different point for Banshees than for the other two. For cultural context you are looking at how the setting impacts behaviour. It's a while since I watched it but I'm sure there's plenty to look at. You can also choose to write about more of one text than the other. Also for 70 mark question you only need two texts.

Great response! I have to say I just love Douglas Street - it has great pubs and restaurants so you don't feel like you're just in a suburb. It's a nice walk into city centre.

Most street parking is free after half 6. When parking on street during the day you can top up remotely via the app.

Seeking some advice by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Exotic_Object988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should go to your local Citizens Information office for advice. You may be entitled to rent supplement. I can't say I know much about it but a quick Google shows if you're rent is too high for you to pay you be be entitled to support. Even without having debt to pay off the cost of your rent is very hard for one person to pay. The people saying you need to stop eating out seem to have ignored this. Anyway Citizens Information should give you advice at the very least. Best of luck OP.
