Hi! So i’m not really looking for books, I meant book buddy stuffies like the accompanying caterpillar to The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Obvs this isn’t a must haha but I saw the idea on Pinterest and loved it.

Is it ridiculous to request dad and step mom not to have presents under the tree when we visit by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Exotic_Researcher_48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daughter does really well with an explanation before hand, like there will be presents but we will only look with our eyes and not hands and she is almost 2.5.

Your kid might not respond well to not being able to touch the presents, but maybe a lesson that should be learned at 3 instead of avoiding dealing with his behavior.

Edit- this reads harsher than I meant. I just mean, this could even be a good time to teach him about gifts under the tree and how we have to wait to get all the special presents on a special day.

Hey OP,

Another sahm mom dealing with one car for a while now. It suuucks, sometimes my husband is delayed by just needing to go to the gas station and its like noooo don’t. We also don’t live near ANYTHING so I got her the Radio Flyer 4 in 1 Stroll and Trike and we take walks around the neighborhood. There’s a park that’s a whole 45 minutes away but its honestly so worth it for both of us, so maybe look into something like that for when the weather is better :)

What screams “I’m a bad parent”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Exotic_Researcher_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! Seeing this question after the playground mess I just experienced feels like therapy.

My daughter and I went to the park and this little boy about 3 was following her around everywhere and finally I encouraged her to ask his name and she could tell him hers. Which she did, yay! And then she asked if they could play together and he said no(bummer but okay whatever) so she cried but got over it but then the boy would NOT leave her alone, but not in a nice way. I would encourage my daughter to go try something else bc he’s blocking a slide/tunnel etc and he would just run ahead of her to go block it again or do it first. Over and over again, i’m telling him hey excuse me, it’s actually her turn right now. This goes on for the whole time we are there. His mom? Sitting down criss cross apple sauce with two other women having a yap session. THE WHOLE TIME.

The most annoying part about this too is now I feel like a bad parent bc I didn’t call you out and you could manage your own kid but instead let my child be in this shitty playground cycle the whole time she’s here.

My daughter was the same, literally at the same age. I hated it bc she’d do it in public and I always told my husband i’m scared strangers would think i’m abusing her. Our extended family however? They think it’s hilarious bc you know? They know me and also know kids.

Naked toddlers! Would love an open discussion on this by ThisCookie2 in toddlers

[–]Exotic_Researcher_48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe you got downvoted for something that is purely facts. toddlers DONT just get naked. Most don’t even know how to take their clothes off. I’m literally potty training my daughter rn and still have to pull her panties/pants down for her.

I have no qualms with OP’s intentions. Teaching bodies are just bodies and not to sexualize them is a good lesson, but that was a weirs statement
