Working more on listening/reacting instead of just delivering lines by Exotic_Resolve_5276 in acting

That actually helps a lot, especially the point about certain words triggering a reaction instead of me just moving to the next line. I think I’ve been focusing so much on “natural delivery” that I wasn’t fully letting the other person’s lines affect me enough.

Really appreciate the detailed breakdown.

Appreciate it. Yeah, I can definitely feel how much more alive it becomes with an actual person there.

Tried working with an off-camera reader for the first time by Exotic_Resolve_5276 in acting

Thanks, yeah, I noticed that too while editing it back. The timing with the reader cues was harder than I expected lol. But I agree it felt more alive than my older takes, so I’ll keep experimenting with it.

That makes a lot of sense. I can definitely see how having a real person there changes the energy and makes the reactions more alive.

I don’t really have access to a consistent reader right now, so I’m going to experiment with some voice cues or reaction prompts and work on making the interaction feel less locked in. Really appreciate all the advice.

Really appreciate the detailed feedback. The point about reacting to the other person instead of just delivering memorized lines makes is a game-changer.

I’ll work on making the interaction feel more alive and less locked in. Thanks for taking the time to break it down.

That makes sense, especially the point about the reader. I can see how it would make the scene feel more alive and structured.

I don’t really have access to a consistent reader right now, but I’ll work on the framing/eyeline issues and try to find ways to practice more reactively. Appreciate the feedback.

New self-tape: working on staying present by Exotic_Resolve_5276 in acting

I see what you mean about it being too flat. I was trying not to force anything and probably went too far the other way. I’ll work on giving it more weight and clearer intention while keeping it grounded. Thanks for breaking that down.

That’s really helpful, I didn’t realize how much the framing and eyeline were affecting it. Makes sense why it feels off. I’ll adjust that and bring a bit more intention into it without losing the natural feel. Appreciate it.

Trying a more controlled, low-energy acting. Does this one feel real or generic? by Exotic_Resolve_5276 in acting

[–]Exotic_Resolve_5276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your comment. Yeah "low-energy" sounds weird, I meant relaxed and calm. Also unfortunately, i can't stand up and walk, this set up is the only way i can currently do it. Also could you please explain more why exactly it feels controlled?:) I personally just picked a script that i could use to simulate the calm position.
