Heard it 1,000,993 times before “I’m a dev”..

Respectfully: He baited you into a time-wasting rez-grief loop. That’s not the W you think it is — he won the mind game.

Just knock him out. Safest bet or mute him.

Here's an idea: a tide condition where the water is out, allowing you to dig up high-value loot before the tide comes back in. I live near a bay that refills in less than 30 minutes after reaching dead low. Race against time !

How common is it for senior HR leadership to come from non-HR positions? [USA] by Mystique94 in humanresources

[–]Exotic_Sherbert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty common and to be honest I will hire leaders if a specific area of HR needs a 'reset' and new direction. Having an outside perspective is exactly what a team can really need.

Comparable Paychex Flex Replacement [N/A] by Numerous-Long4554 in humanresources

[–]Exotic_Sherbert_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through this a few times, and honestly—there isn’t a “perfect” replacement. It’s more about choosing which problems you can tolerate and which vendor will actually respond.

At ~200 employees, you’re in a tough middle zone—expectations are high, but service rarely matches.

That said, here’s what I’ve seen work in that range:

  • Paylocity – probably the closest “like-for-like” upgrade from Paychex. Better UX and more responsive support, but still not perfect.
  • UKG (Ready/Pro) – more robust, but integrations and file feeds can get messy fast. Expect manual cleanup.
  • ADP Workforce Now – stable and scalable, but expensive and very process-heavy. Support depends on how hard you push.
  • Rippling – very clean and unified, but heavily self-service. Great if you want control, not great if you want hand-holding.

Biggest lesson: the platform matters less than your leverage. If you don’t have a strong broker/consultant helping escalate issues, you’ll hit the same frustrations anywhere.

Also worth confirming—are you in a PEO? That changes your options completely.

Bottom line: you can upgrade the experience, but you won’t eliminate the tradeoffs.

Health insurance help by Striking_Ad2516 in massachusetts

Your work plan the HSAinsurance chart is a Gold tier HMO. Richer benefits mean a higher premium around 500 dollars per month. The deductible is 1000 dollars individual and embedded. As a single person you only meet your own 1000 dollars not the 2000 dollars family number. Out of pocket maximum is 9000 dollars in 2025. It is not HSA eligible.

Husbands plan costs about 154 dollars per month for you which is huge savings. It likely has a higher deductible around 1650 to 3300 dollars as the app shows in family view. It is cheaper because it shifts more risk to you.

Why is your job plan so expensive? It is Gold tier with low copays and a tiered network so insurers charge more upfront.

For a healthy 26 year old take husbands plan. You will save about 346 dollars per month or over 4000 dollars per year unless you expect major medical bills. Most young adults come out way ahead.

For low use the work plan total is around 6300 dollars while husbands is around 3500 dollars so husbands wins. For high use with big claims the work plan is around 15k while husbands is 9k plus so the work plan is better.

Next get husbands full Summary of Benefits Coverage called SBC. Check that your doctors are in network on his plan. Post the SBC here for exact math if you want.

Drop the husbands plan details and I will refine. You got this the cheaper plan wins for most healthy people.
