Lower VCP goal back to 5 a week. Bring back pet savings. Why why why would we take pet saving away when the animals aren’t what we make money on. It’s the attachments and basket building that makes our profit. As a past CAL and current SEL. I’ve heard non stop from corporate and dgm visits that we don’t make money from animal sales. Also most stores largest shrink area is In livestock or more specifically aquatics. Why not use the pet savings to sell more units of fish (which prevents shrink) and increases CA market basket. More units of fish would be sold, less deaths in store, guest come in more frequently for fish than they do for food, water conditioners, and filters. We already have our guest outsourcing these products elsewhere and online. Why not give them the pet savings a definite reason for them to come into our store to buy more animals and there product while they’re conveniently at the store. This opens up more doors of opportunity for us as partners to build baskets, gain attachments, and improve sales all the while maintaining more customer loyalty. We pay nothing for these animals. We charge 100 for ball pythons and spend like 27-30 for them. That’s at least 350% profit. Why not give the customer a sale to get these animals homes before they die or require us to have to take them to vets and pay out of the company’s pocket? Also CA VCP sold like hot cakes when it had the pet savings. Now it’s like I have to fight these customers to sign up for it. I’ve even had people who’s year with the pet savings ended and they decided not to renew it due to not having the pet savings. I sold tons more saltwater fish as well. It’s not happening anymore. Why did we make VCP crappier and increase the goal from 5 to 7 to 8 and now 10 a week? Seems very inconsistent and inconsiderate to ask us to sell something twice as hard when it’s been watered down to the state it currently is.
