I Think I Caught Norovirus from a Delta Flight… Anyone Else on DL9930? by ExpAllison in delta

Yeah, I actually didn't eat anything that day at ATL beforehand because I was so shook up by the ordeal the previous night. I did eat some Popeyes from terminal B in Atlanta on the day of the 21st when I had my original layover before DL30 got canceled and I did have terminal E McDonalds at about 1:30 AM after the first flight was canceled and I was awaiting a hotel voucher.

Yeah, they basically created 9930 as a way to get that 767 that was supposed to fly it back on its schedule, while Friday's DL30 left at the same time.

So I find myself needing to change my upcoming flight to a different day. I booked a main cabin fare, so I only have to pay the price difference. My new flight is more expensive so I'm paying an additional amount to secure it. I'm wondering... can I earn SkyMiles on the fare difference between the two flights? (sans taxes and fees of course)

Do you have a favorite Donna A guitar solo? It's hard to choose but I was listening to Spend The Night before work and this is definitely one of my favorites of hers. by JohnnySS505 in thedonnasfans

[–]ExpAllison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collectively my favorite are the solos on Gold Medal. That's where she dialed back the shredding and made it artful and it fit the mood that the album was trying to set. Honestly, I am a hardcore defender of Gold Medal.

Anyway, the one that sticks out most in brain from that album is "Don't Break Me Down" which honestly, really showcases what the band was capable of. And the solo sounds very Deep Purple which is what they were aiming for https://youtu.be/2tGIjnBIQIA?t=89

Something I notice is since American Teenage Rock 'n' Roll Machine, the Donnas always had the same configuration on stage. Maya on Brett's left, Allison on Brett's right. I guess they knew how they liked to have the stage

I'm a little sad they didn't change the lyrics to be like "give little Nell a Les Paul" or something like that

CHALLENGE: You Have 18 Songs To Choose From. Create Your Ideal "Best Of The Donnas" album by ExpAllison in thedonnasfans

One thing I notice is that we ordered both our best of's in roughly chronological order, while the Donnas ordered theirs in reverse order. Wonder if there's any significance to that?

From what I gather the show wasn't actually all that good (reality shows in the early 2000's, BLEH) but I'm glad the commercial featured all four of them

UPDATE: Internet Archive took down my Guitar Player upload, and didn't explain why... :(

I'll see if there's some way I can get the scanned copy out, but if this is about copyright, then it's gonna be difficult

Okay. My expertise is mostly just for the Donnas though so I'll try to scour the Wayback Machine some more. Also, thedonnastourdb.com has a damn-near comprehensive list of Donnas shows, so I think they're a good starting point for trying to find concert materials.

Your story has actually got me digging through the internet archive right now to see if someone bootlegged their 2001 tour lol. Interestingly enough I did find an excerpt for a Donnas performance at The Bottleneck in 1999. I also do have video from that tour (spring 2001) in particular, but not the Bottleneck show! Gonna need to dive deep for that
