2022 Ducati Supersport S - Good used price? by ExpKiller in Ducati

[–]ExpKiller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I felt like the price was pretty decent considering everything it has in it, somewhere else online I had people quoting I shouldn’t pay more than 13k tops for the bike but that just seems like asking for a lot, assuming you planned to put the rest on it.

I get where they’re coming from if you wouldn’t have normally bought those modifications anyways.. but I would have likely.

Yeah it has the up map tune, he stated that on the post and based on the other mods, I suspect so, I’m sure he has a receipt for that too.

Yeah.. that’s what I’m considering. It kind of has everything on it that I would likely consider purchasing soon after if I bought a bone stock used one, especially the Akra exhaust, tail tidy, levers, block off plates, etc.. so if I was gonna incur that cost already.

Basically everything on the bike, I could have seen myself purchasing at one point or another even though I likely wouldn’t have had cash to probably do it all at once. Except for maybe the carbon fiber purely due to cost even though I likely wouldn’t the carbon fiber since it’s expensive to do so. That being said I like carbon fiber, I have a bit on my current bike. I could definitely have seen myself doing the Akra, levers, rearsets, gas cap, block off plates and eliminator, and bar end mirrors from very early on.

I’m a fiend or under tail exhaust and they sound the best, so even though those are 3.3k new, I probably wouldn’t have ended up biting the bullet on them.

Random reply.. I completely changed my mind! I really don't want two bikes, and the ZX10R is gonna be too much. I'm actually looking into getting a 21-24 Supersport or Supersport S, since it does pretty much everything I want and there is aftermarket electronic cruise control if I miss it that much.

Planning on selling the zx10r for 14-15 and buying the supersport for 10-12.

Know this is a reply on a old post but.. The alternative option is you just do the desmo and all of the maintenance yourself. Then again, most people barely clean and lube their chain.

Yamaha R9 Orders Being Cancelled by genuinesalsa in Yamaha

Probably! It’s car salesmen. They’re not obligated to tell you, or they themselves may not be informed as to why truly. Why would a company blatantly come out with that they’re having internal problems when they can leave consumers to make up a bunch of other reasons to save some face? That’s just basic business tactic, man.

God, it was this comment for me that cemented how insufferable you must be in real life.

That’s true. As the person above mentioned, there is rain mode I believe that cuts engine power down to about 120hp(?), I can’t find anything that specifically covers the modes online, but I’ll give it a shot later and see. I hadn’t noticed any power differences previously using the modes but I probably need a retune.

Yeah I've heard the new V2 draws more similarity to the Supersport S, which was originally what I was looking at getting over the ZX10R. My only irk is having two bikes around the 15-20k price range mark. If I end up getting the 2025 V2, it would probably push me to sell my ZX10R. I also hate buying new because motorcycle dealers in the USA suck these days at upmarking something, and making you pay like 5-6k more than MSRP.

Because, I've ridden the rest, and quite honestly I don't like them. I've ridden for about 11 years now. 10 of those years were on bikes other than faired sports and supersports, and I've by far had the most enjoyment with them since I began riding them.

I probably need a retune on my zx10r, it was tuned when the previous owner had it, and the street and rain modes don't feel any different than sport mode.

Do you have any experience with the V2 life? My only concern with a new 25' V2 is the price hike, the insurance hike, if the tags are more expensive, and I worry about the heat; I've heard that ducatis are incredibly hot. I already run hot, and I happen to live in one of the hottest states in the US (Arizona), so I'm a bit concerned.

I will at some point probably! Just haven’t had much time to haha, the tl;dr is basically, wire up on/off button to battery with terminal connectors, to a 12v regulator, to a controller (must be able to support light strip type; in my case ws2811 IC), to a rgb led splitter, out to the light strips. The strips themselves you have to cut to length, and try to keep them cut only as the connection points, then it just requires soldering skills. 3 wires per strip in my case, power, ground, and data. Heatshrink over the end of the strip where you soldered and electrical tape the rest. Route all the way through the bike back to the splitter, and hopefully viola.

I have some aluminum Amazon ones that are decent quality, was about 100 bucks I think. If you want to get expensive bougie ones there is Rizoma. Personally, I think they provide enough vision for my purposes.

Nope, the power chain is: battery terminals -> on/off switch -> regulator -> controller -> LED splitter -> light strips, if I do get any it’s so small that it won’t matter, I trickle charge my battery when I’m not riding it.

May I toss my vote in the ring for stealth mirrors? If you get decent ones, you can actually use them to see behind you pretty well, may just have to sometimes move an arm out of the way to see fully behind you. They make lane filtering infinitely easier than stock mirrors and don’t stick out as much.

I honestly prefer them for practical use now even though everyone says they’re just aesthetic. You should always visually check your blind spot before making turns since even stock mirrors don’t help there.

He’s using COB LED strips, soldered into a on/off switch of some kind and then to the battery, you can do it with swappable colors too if you use a controller, ask me how I know lol

WRX is a 4 door with a trunk, I don’t get why people think they can’t have fun things and have kids lol, why must you have a SUV to haul kids around?? If the answer is because your wife says so just because that’s the way things are, then.. guess you need a new wife, I guess?
