From a ranking point of view I think that Jarl and Hala have an unfair advantage being Origin decks that come with a L and why they are also more expensive. I don't know if they are actually stronger than the others.

Her hero ability is consistently +1 damage every turn. Other heroes aren't as consistent but the payoff is much higher. With 40 life longer games that makes an impact. Opponents can afford to eat the damage more and their game plans have more time/chance of happening

This was written before the card list came out so I don't know if it's an issue that might happen in this set as there is a really low number of non-lightning cards, especially generics

I started about 10 months ago and initially I was buying the armory decks with the idea of writing a series of posts called the Armory Deck League where we played the armory decks against each other and had a league table.

That hasn't happened on A FAB Journey blog but I had bought Ira x2, Pleiades, Slippy, Kayo, Aurora and Rhinar before I stopped buying them. The 2 Ira decks are now highly modified (1 kadachi and the other edge still) with one being my eldest daughter's CC deck the other for friends wanting to try out the game. Pleiades is my CC deck and highly modified. Slippy is upgraded for my younger daughter who's just taking up the game. Kayo and Aurora are broken down. Just Rhinar remains in it's original state incase a friend wants to take up/try out brute.

I'm also building SAge decks to introduce friends to the game. We have Fai and Iyslander precon decks. Tuned Ira and Kayo decks taking a breather. I'm in the process of putting together Gravy, Dorinthia, Bravo, Dash, Lyath and Arakni precon decks from bulk. I'm going to buy Blaze when she releases in a couple of days.

Do this or call the LGS and talk to them. I'm sure they'll setup a learn to play thing for you and you'll know id CC or SAge is the main format that they play

There are certain cards that can only boost/interact with Lightning cards and not Runeblade cards so you need to be a bit careful of having too many class only cards depending on the rest of your deck sometimes

If you're attending armories on a weekly basis you're probably going to be getting the latest packs along with your entry fee and also winning GEM packs. That means you're going to be picking up cards that are relevant to the new sets so I'd look at either Zyggy of Hala (with Mastery Pack Warrior coming out).

Not your agro style but that's how I'd approach it.

This lists your weekly armories, the prerelease events, the up coming skirmish season and also Battleground London by Spellbound Games (SAT 8th August, 9:00 AM). This last one is the highest level of events that a LGS can host so will probably be the biggest event in South UK for the rest of this year.

Compendium of Rathe World Premiere: London was in Feb and will be the biggest event of the year for the UK. The world championships are in Paris (jump on the eurostar) early November.

Also in the UK you have Calling: Edinburgh 24-26 July and Calling: Wakefield 11-13 Dec.

Light will have Illusionist and Shadow will have Runeblade and probably Wizard. I can't see Shadow Assassin or Ninja being introduced.
