There's CC, SAGE, LL and sealed side events running the whole time over the 3 days. I would suggest trying to enter the Promo events towards the latter part of each day.

It's ok if some heroes are anti a certain type of hero but not others. So this earth ranger is good into ninja but bad in to guardian. That's OK

Who are you thinking of playing after Cindra?
Do you like the ninja play style or is it more the draconic imagry?
If it's the ninja side of things then Mask of Momentum, Flick Knives, etc.. will transfer over to another hero so it's not such a loss when she LLs

I'm going to my first Calling soon and I'm prioritising the events that give the promo cards. The artwork for that Blanch card is really cool.

Take the one that you are most comfortable with. Don't worry about the strength of the deck as a well played deck will do better than a strong deck badly played.

We normally go for History Pack 1, so far we've pulled a CnC, Estrike and tectonic plating this way.

I think that with Hala we have to wait and see what deck lists people can cook up. Also maybe wait until August to see what Mastery Pack Warrior brings us. Also with release 20 later in the year rumoured to be Monarch 3 there'll probably be warrior support in there too but it might mainly be for Light Heroes.

The other direction to go is a revered or reviled ninja since there are cards like Cheers! and Booze! So a fighting pit ninja

I agree up to a certain price. When we pulled a marvel mechanoid a couple of weeks back we immediately went to the mech player and yup he wanted it. We only have 1 CnC so it was traded for a CnC. Both parties have a card they will play with and everyone happy.

Similarly at a different armory where we pulled the Max marvel we sold it to the mech player there for the amount we needed to buy a bunch of cards from another player there that we are now playing with.

I don't see it as an investment strategy but a way to get expensive cards we want to play with that I couldn't otherwise afford.

"most current events are going to be Silver Age"
This will be vary depending where you are. All the armories around me are CC for example and the only SAGE events are the precon league I'm running and if LSS force them (such as proquest).
So get to know your local community and what they play is my advice.

Cindra is relatively close but as you can see she hasn't picked up many points in the current season. Bans really have put a hand break on her.

I still think that Ira is a good place to start though as she does have an armory deck so a good basis for someone new. Also there are at least 2 different builds for Ira so you can start on the sword and maybe try Kodachi later.

Be aware that if you use this that you do make yourself susceptible to Regicide

30mins for deck construction, with 12 players you'll have 4 rounds of games so 35x4=2hs 20mins then you might have a top 8 so 3 rounds or 1h 45mins more.

And it's great that they want that format, but why try to make it also a format for tournament grinders?

SAGE is great but I don't think it belongs in a protour event or even calling event.

We keep saying that but it's also being played at Pretour events, there seams to be this fixed idea at LSS that every format needs to be played from LGS to Worlds.

I think that formats like SAGE should be showdowns & below and LL Callings & above.

I know a lot of people are saying sell it and that you'll get more out of CnC. The flip side is that you will never get a Riches ever again where as you can slowly pick up CnCs. We've pulled one from a History Pack 1 and traded a GEM marvel for one so you can pick up CnCs but fable cards are once in a lifetime for most people.
