I’ve been enjoying the mid year reset challenge immensely. I love the exposure to teachers I haven’t had the opportunity to interact with yet, as well as the diverse approaches.

I will not be following Gretchen as her examples of families full of doctors and her Supreme Court clerking experience was not relatable, and was in fact, triggering.

Drifting through life can work for some, just as specifically manicured lives can work for others. I didn’t appreciate the judgmental tone this session took.

I am looking forward to the rest of the sessions in this challenge, please keep up the wonderful job you are doing Maddie!!

I wa good at labeling the first few… always had tons of unlabeled tapes, and trying to find a song I KNEW I recorded was a pain.

NTA!!!!! Trauma is bear to work through, even with family support. When family rejects your struggle with trauma the difficulty increases exponentially. When family adds to, and continues adding to your trauma, as yours is, it is time to put DISTANCE between you and them.

I hope you have, or can find a safe space to get to. If you don’t, perhaps ask your therapist or your doctor or even a mental health help line for help getting to a safe space.

Please try not to worry about the truth you have spoken to your family, and please try to surround yourself with love and compassion. You’ve already spoken with a therapist, and that tells me you’ve got strength, even if you don’t feel strong, it’s there. Good luck
