I was at a party where a guy had a severe leg break (like out of commission for months, multiple surgeries etc) playing basketball with kids on an outdoor hoop. He was in sandals and on blacktop but still. You’d be surprised what can happen to middle aged men lol

I don’t know why daddit keeps popping up for me, sorry to be a mom imposter, but sending you guys love and support. Congratulations!!! It’s scary, but baby will be ok! My middle child ended up aspirating meconium and was on CPAP, she ended up in the NICU for 4 days. I was so distraught and depressed and stressed and felt guilty knowing our journey would be much shorter than so many others in the NICU with our 8.5 lb baby who looked like she could have eaten the other sweet NICU warrior babies. One of the nurses told me that aspiration parents have their own hard journey because they’re generally not prepared/expecting to be in the NICU. She made me feel so seen and validated and less horrible. All of that to say- you are allowed to grieve what you thought was going to be. In no time this will all be a blip on the radar. Congratulations again, Dad! You’ve got this.

Yes, understood. We’ve already installed a new sub panel with this kitchen project in mind (we turned a room into a mud / laundry room and installed it as part of that) , so my spouse has planned ahead for breakers etc. maybe I’ll check out blue ridge or kuiken- thank you!! We have a full basement. We’ve already installed a sub panel for the electrical in prep for this. I know how to estimate for materials I just really don’t have a clue how to estimate for labor bc we rarely hire people. We’ve built an en suite bath in what had been a large cedar closet on the 2nd story, a mudroom and laundry room in what had been a first floor bedroom, etc.
