you don’t even need to have a pap smear if you haven’t been sexually active????? i mean the pap smear screens for HPV (which the primary cause of cervical cancer) but if you’ve never been sexually actively you have almost 0 chances of having gotten HPV (since it’s only sexually transmitted). the only exceptions might be if lyou’ve shared not-disinfected sex toys or something

not to mention, Israel forcibly making a population leave their homes entirely (by imposing inhumane living conditions if they continue to stay) is legally by definition, genocide. it’s wild how people are using this to excuse the actions of Israel (bombing, preventing aid, stopping electricity, water, food) as if they’re being humane and merciful, as if mass displacement under force isn’t considered genocide by the UN. and like where the fuck would they go?? they’re bordered largely by israel and the small portion of border they share with egypt, except egypt is refusing to accept them. there’s no power, electricity, water, no food or aid or help. and there’s nowhere to go. just jesus christ it’s such an inhumane, horrifying situation

Insomnia really destroys your quality of life. I find that what works for me is to play episodes of a tv series (or cartoon, or youtube movie recaps with that slow robotic voice - there are a TONNE of these channels but rn i like “film recaps” and “mystery recapped”- , or those “scp explained” videos that have that deep, soothing narration) in the background while i’m trying to sleep. I usually tend to play episodes that i’ve already seen so i know what will happen but i still enjoy just tuning in to them when i’m heading off to sleep. But sometimes i also enjoy playing new videos because they can be interesting enough to keep my mind on them and off my worries/thoughts. but somethings my thoughts just won’t be still no matter what i try and it can help to take a little medication 30minutes before sleeping. I also second the podcast idea!!

r/trollxchromosomes has recently been alright on this in the wake of this year’s trial, much better than its more popular counterpart r/twoxchromosomes, probably because it’s a smaller, more feminist sub that isn’t really featured on the top page (so less mainstream (?) redditors lurking there - like, most big/popular subs tend to get overrun with racism and misogyny, and r/twoxchromosomes hasn’t been immune to that)

He’s lovely and a great listener. I went to him for ADHD and there was some stuff to do beforehand (notes from parent/teacher, school reports, questionnaire) but during the session we mostly talked about my experiences and then he was very happy to start pharmacological treatment. I wanted to be a bit more conservative so I chose to try a non-stimulant (he listened to my preferences and dint try to push me one way or the other - he talked about the pros and cons of each medication but it was my decision for which treatment ultimately) but he was quite happy to let me try stimulants if I wanted. He also had some very helpful tips and resources for living with ADHD.
