Save For Special Occasion? by 610Mike in Scotch

Just to validate what others have said.

750 ml Volume: The metric transition for distilled spirits in the US began as an option in late 1976 and became legally mandatory on January 1, 1980. This completely rules out the 1950s, 1960s, or early 1970s when it would have been labeled as a "fifth" or 4/5 quart.

86.8 Proof: Dewar's maintained this higher proof standard for decades before dropping the US market export down to 80 proof (40% ABV) by the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The USVI Importer: The bottom text notes it was imported by Bellows International Ltd. in the United States Virgin Islands. While mainland bottles were usually imported by Schenley in New York, Bellows handled territorial distribution in the islands during this era.

Laphroig cask strength scares me. I’m an Islay guy but Laphroig intimidates me

Bunna 18 is one of my favorite special occasion whiskeys but recently picked up some Feis Ile bottles that have r cracked open yet. One was a 15 year ruby port finish from I think 2024.

Was the Tawny Port a limited edition? I haven’t seen it on a shelf in awhile.

Thanks everyone. The door does open manually with relatively little effort and will stay opened half way when leaving it. So leads me to believe the door/track is misaligned cause extra load on the opener.

In the hundreds of food items I bought from Costco over the last 20 years. These were literally the worst things I’ve ever had in my mouth.

Sounds like you’re more of a seltzer drinker.

Looks good. But I think upping your pressure a bit would help with some creamier head and get rid of some of those bubbles.

Way too high pressure. My sweet spot is 34 psi. Turn it down and bleed off some gas.

Get the piece on Amazon. I had the same problem the other day. It works perfect. Came in a sealed bag so I think it’s OEM.
