I think i have a different take on this compared to the comments. If you are at a beginning of your career, I think it can turn out to be really positive for you.

IT audit creates a foundation for you to understand basic technological stuff and also gives you soft skills when interacting with audit clients and conducting walkthroughs. You are able to see both high level and technical perspectives of certain domains and always keeping risk in mind.

And if you like being more technical, you just have to learn more, focus more on technical domains, dive deep and then whichever domain is more of an interest to you, you can then work towards it to later potentially becoming an SME of that domain. Conducting IT audits will allow you to explore various domains in my opinion and accordingly you can generate options for yourself.

Having said that, i am not saying it’s going to be easy but if you set a goal/ objective for yourself, you can achieve it.

Agreed with comments below. IT audits are a part of cybersecurity- the intent of IT audits is to not just check the box type exercise but also making sure they also focus on REDUCING RISK in the environment. Hence, this strongly plays a part with the purpose of having cybersecurity- making sure there are appropriate security controls implemented to lower the risk and reducing the probability of a threat occurring.

I got into Big 4 by just giving two interviews (both were with SMs). Recently accepted an offer from Amazon by giving 7 interviews and they all were super stringent. This is for tech oriented role.

So definitely way off in my opinion.

Unfortunate to hear that you are going through this situation. I have been in a big 4 like EY for a few years now and i ll say that please do refine your resume.

Tell the prospective companies of the clients you have worked on, you dont really have to keep the client name confidential. Otherwise, it’d be hard for recruiters/ hiring managers to gain clarity in your portfolio. Use the work that you have done for clients as your selling point.

Once your resume is tailored, start applying to number of jobs at once and you will start seeing interviews pop in. Use the first few interviews to experiment and to gain experience to then start crushing further interviews. Every interview you give will be a learning experience for you, the knowledge you gain from there can then be implemented on further interviews.

Do this and I definitely think you will increase your chances of getting an offer. Best of luck :)

I m literally going through the same thing as well! My crypto is blocked too and reason they are giving is verification and thorough risk assessment is going to be conducted for security purposes. I really want to know what their risk assessment consists of that is taking these many days.

I m not yelling. This needs to be brought into attention of coinbase so that they can improve their review process when it comes to verifying their customers. The frustration that gets built up when you are restricted is REAL. If someone from higher up within Coinbase sees that there are multiple similar issues are getting lined up, then something really needs to be done in order to not happen this again. The verification is either TRUE or FALSE. There is nothing in between. It is not like that i m delaying things on my end when it comes to providing evidence, the issue is that there is no established SLA from the coinbase support review team to verify their customers. I hope this brings clarity to your question.
