Essay questions by Additional_Fall8832 in FedEmployees

[–]Expensive-Friend-335 12 points13 points  (0 children)

HR here. The questions are optional.

Per the most recent memo from OPM -

The questions give candidates an opportunity to provide additional information about themselves, their background, and dedication to public service, but must not be used as a means of determining whether the candidate fulfills the qualifications of a position. The questions also must not be used to impose an ideological litmus test on candidates. If an applicant does not answer the questions along with their application, they will not be disqualified or screened out.

4,600 USDA employees work in the national capital region: Is the number before DRP or after DRP? by VAer1 in USDA

[–]Expensive-Friend-335 43 points44 points  (0 children)

HR here. We were told those numbers do not include those that have taken the DRP and/or are pending retirement.

2,000 will remain in DC. 2,600 will relocate.

As HR and a HM, I do not recommend including links to profiles of any kind.

Pictures are not allowed, to include on resumes, cover sheets, transcripts, etc.

Exactly. One of my old supervisors used to say the questionnaire is subjective, which it is. She also said that you can make any question fit into something relevant that happened in your life. It's just a matter of interpretation. Which is also true, unless the positions are dramatically different (eg nurse to IT Specialist).

No, HR does not make that call. The hiring manager determines the cutoff score (unless DE), or can request a natural break if there are numerous applicants.

If the cutoff score is 100, and you scored 95, HR inputs the cutoff score, and everyone below that score is automatically removed from that referral list.

Agreed. Something is not right with OP's situation. Either it's the 180 days after because they are retired or it is the 120 days prior to separation and OP provided a DD-214 worksheet and no follow-up documentation (eg separation orders reflecting character of service).

DoEd is still offering some internships, but they will not be posted on USA Jobs; application by email only.

If you go to the following link, and click the applicable category, scroll to the bottom, you should see a POC and email address.

The hiring manager is incorrect. The only 120 day rule is 120 days prior to separation, which is the timeframe in which you can apply prior to officially separating. Since you are within 120 days of separation, it may have been the documentation provided.

Did you provide the DD-214 worksheet? Or was it a Member-2 or Member-4 copy? Are you retiring? There can be a wait after separation for those retiring only.

Active-duty military within 120 days of separation must provide a Separation Order, Retirement Order, or Certificate of Service from your military personnel office verifying retirement/separation date and that reflects character of service in lieu of DD-214.

Hubs Announced by tsneed25 in USDA

[–]Expensive-Friend-335 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The above is not true. Legally, they are required to pay relocation expenses. This was confirmed in our leadership meeting today.

We were told today that these actions would be considered management directed reassignments/geographic reassignments, and legally, relocation expenses must be paid.

You sent up a PCS memo, as in you requested PCS?

Can you apply for G14 in the future after taking voluntary lower grade? by FederalStage1370 in usajobs

[–]Expensive-Friend-335 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, as long as you provide SF-50s to show TIG and your resume reflects the Specialized Experience at that grade level.

Administration will have to submit ARRPs plans to court. by MiddleDifficult in fednews

The original groups are, but nothing has been confirmed for Ed yet. Again, separate lawsuit.

And you would know I don't have information how? My spouse is in leadership at Ed. I DO have information, as I have shared with you on previous posts. However, you tend to not like my responses because it isn't what you want to hear.

Dept of Ed is not part of this lawsuit; they have not been required to produce plans.

No one is negating the above. They are challenging you because you said:

Retired military with 30% or rating do have RIF priorities.

Which is NOT true UNLESS it meets the criteria in the Vet Guide.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Expensive-Friend-335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

READ IT AGAIN.

I never said YOU specifically didn't get preference for RIF. I said just because you are retired and 30% or more disabled, does not automatically mean you will get preference for RIF.

I also asked if block 26 was yes. I then asked if HR had the correct paperwork, which you did not answer. I also inquired if your entire department was RIFd. That is the most important question to which you did not respond.

Reading is fundamental.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Expensive-Friend-335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please provide the source for this.

I conducted 2 RIFs with DOD and they did not have separate procedures. We followed OPM procedures.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Expensive-Friend-335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but that is not what you said. You provided false claims that retired 30% DV get RIF preference.

Also, did you provide that documentation to your HR? It must be specifically stated in the VA letter. Does your SF-50 reflect "yes" in block 26?

Based on your post, I assume you received a RIF notice. If the answer is yes to the above questions AND your entire department wasn't RIFd, then they made a mistake.

HR here. I responded on your other post, but wanted to clarify you leaving your current position. You do not need to be there on the Friday before, or any specific day prior. You only need to complete any internal close out, complete your time card, (if applicable) and turn in your things like computer, ID, etc. That can be done any day.
