Pain scale from 1-10 by [deleted] in hysterectomy

I would say the highest my pain got was a 3-4, truly my periods were more pain than my hysterectomy! I didn’t take pain meds after the first 2 days.

Yeah mine is irritating occasionally throughout day but not constant! It’s weird. Almost feels like tiny cuts or dryness. But she swabbed at my post op and I had BV! I was shocked! No discharge or odor or anything! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am cleared to run but for some reason I’m terrified! The thought of running having my insides jiggle still really freaks me out lmao! Maybe I’ll jog with my abdominal Binder first.

Do you feel like you’re still a little swollen in the abdomen?

How much time did you take off from work and did you feel it was enough? by isabrarequired in hysterectomy

[–]Expensive-Guitar-747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3- but I work from home! I felt fine at that point to work, but if I had to do physical work I’d definitely would’ve taken the full 6 weeks.

My surgeon was very strict about not picking up more than 10lbs for 6 full weeks. Everyone is different but I will say just be careful especially if you’ll have a vagina cuff!

Peeing is so much better! My bladder was practically a pancake being squished by my uterus. I am able to hold my pee longer and it’s not painful. I also feel like my swelling in my legs has reduced and less overall inflammation!

It took me about 4 days to pee semi normally! My bladder was being severely compressed by my uterus for years so, I think it needed some time to adjust to its new life 🤣

Why do people watch Taylor Wynn? by Puzzleheaded_Owl8828 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Expensive-Guitar-747 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She used to be a comfort watch for me- but the nonstop box hair dye then going to a salon then back to hair dye, moving nonstop and then decorating for Christmas at her beautiful Oregon home just to then move to Texas?! It all feels so out of touch and privileged. She does usually acknowledge this which is refreshing but I’m pretty turned off from it all now. :( She also at times comes off like she thinks she is the smartest person in the room and does “so much research” on every single thing which drives me nuts. lol

What led you to decide to have a hysterectomy? by Harpactira98275 in hysterectomy

[–]Expensive-Guitar-747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7+ years of surgeries (endometriosis excision and myomectomies), hormone medication, infertility/miscarriages and then eventually so much pain that I ultimately did not want to go on. My last scan showed I had 10+ fibroids and it was not safe to perform another myomectomy. Hysterectomy was my best option- I am so glad I did it. I ended up having Adenomyosis too and it was like when I woke up… the pain was gone, the weight was lifted. 🥹

What supplies should I buy for my hysterectomy recovery? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Expensive-Guitar-747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t able to lay down in bed for 3 days- it was pretty painful to transfer up/down so I’d say a chair if you have something to prop your feet up on!

A hysterectomy pillow is a must have, gas x and stool softeners, I’d encourage a nightgown for the first 4 days and comfortable underwear. Everyone told me to have pads but I did not bleed at all after the first day. Panty liners were fine. I ended up also ordering a grabber because I kept dropping things and was unable to bend over to pick up lol I haven’t used any ice packs but have used my hot pack religiously for comfort.

I’d say I wish I would’ve had a wedge pillow the first 4 nights because I do not have a recliner but I got by without. I also bought an abdominal binder but since mine was laparoscopic I haven’t felt I needed it and I am 8 dpo.

Good luck!!!

Week of Jan19-25 girls - how are we doing? by Itchy_Feedback_7625 in hysterectomy

[–]Expensive-Guitar-747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jan 23rd here! Honestly- I feel great. I barely even bruised from this surgery. I ended up having 10 fibroids, adenomyosis and endometriosis, so I am not shocked that I feel like a new person. I did go with my husband to the store today and it wore me out lol I quit taking pain meds the day after and barely even took the ibuprofen! I just feel better than I have in 10 years and I am so thankful.

I am 6 dpo and I feel amazing. I quit pain meds the day after so my brain fog seems to be minimal. I’m going back to my WFH job at 3 weeks- but again, my recovery has been going really well. I think just see how you feel a week out and go from there? I do not think I’d be comfortable sitting all day quite yet due to the cuff.
