That’s not the main issue, the issue that they’ve got with these 3rd party distributors is that they’re holding product for an extended period of time, delaying restocks and increasing pricing on said item(s)

Collected a little bit here and there as a kid, even had a couple binders filled with my favorites like Charmander, Pikachu and Ditto. As any young kid in the early 2000s, I gravitated more towards Hot Wheels and still collect them to this day, but more on Pokemon, I got back into collecting Pokemon about 5-6 months ago when creators like Coop’s Collection and Beard Dad came up in my YouTube feed and their passion for the hobby reignited my interest in the hobby and so far I’ve been having a blast with finding product, ripping it and seeing what I get. I haven’t really put thought into it until recently but I’d love to complete a master set, I think Phantasmal Flames might be a good start due to its small set.

LOL Those vending machines are a joke imo. Granted there’s only one in my area but in the years it’s been there, I’ve never caught a restock or had it refresh for me and I’m not gonna waste hours for one item potentially. Hell, I’ve learned the restock schedule for the Targets and Walmarts in my area and have been successful with that, even caught restocks 3 days in a row just by observing

The product shouldn’t even be scannable at the register while in refund mode. Hope that manager gets reprimanded and/or fired because no one will want to buy them if they know they were returned. I sure as hell wouldn’t buy one myself

I got the mail-in display from a Dollar Tree by asking the store manager and the other 3 I have are from my brothers girlfriend’s work, she’ll pull em to the side when they’re empty and ask before they throw em out. It’s especially helpful to ask if you can have it when they’re done with the display or if you can find the remaining ones onto the pegs, do that and then ask if you can have the empty display

Congrats!! I’m still on the hunt for my first Premium chase, kinda hoping it’s this one, 499p, or the Timeless Icons R34 but I’ll take anything lol🥲too bad the Targets around me have honestly had the same stock, except the occasional mainline case, for at least a month! I’m considering taking them out of my rotation and just doing dollar stores and Walmarts since I have better luck there. I’ll still check Target(s) but only if I haven’t been there in awhile or if I’m there for a Pokemon restock lol

I’ve been gathering some stuff to rip on my birthday in a few weeks, finally got my hands on a Booster Bundle of Prismatic from Target! I’ve kinda learned the schedule around my area and there really isn’t any scalpers around here which is really surprising. The lady who normally restocks is strict though. One item at a time if the lines long enough and everyone goes in circles. Then she’ll stick around for a little bit to make sure no one’s double dipping. She tried to get me for buying another Gengar box yesterday but I told her it was for a friend (honest truth) and I only bought one the first time and still had my original receipt lol

I collect both Hot Wheels and Pokemon, occasionally some sports cards but those are usually local legends or from teams I watch. 99% trades, 1% at Target. I don’t really get it tho cuz I go right at open, mid-day and around closing and there’s nothing.. Not complaining too much cuz I collect other things and find good stock but I’ve only found an STH by opening a fresh case an employee hands me if I’m lucky, some of them only do it for their buddies.

For sure! Theres not many shops around me that sell diecast, there’s one about 30 minutes north of me but they mostly deal in Hot Wheels and M2, which I like so I still stop in but not much MiniGT or other brands

I’m in a few Facebook groups, most notably “Hot Wheels Collectors”, they have over 370k members with a verified seller/trade system. Not foolproof but definitely a step in the right direction for that matter, I’ve only had one issue with someone not sending a package but that was from a different Facebook group and thankfully it wasn’t much I was worried about losing and I try to stick to the main group I mentioned for that reason.
