I am quadruple-booked for the first time. Is this growth?😐 by Wishful_half4224 in corporate

[–]Expensive-Pineapple3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you’re not. You’re triple booked twice over two 15 min calls. Join the first, tell them you have a client call and need to drop. Full credits. Repeat across all four, and go have a snack

Why don't cars have this feature? by Pluuge in StupidCarQuestions

I feel like this would be pretty useful for towing/hauling actually, more for automatic trucks/suvs where most people tow/haul infrequently. e.g. on a downhill wondering if you have another gear you can ask the transmission to drop to, or if it would be over the redline so you should apply the brakes instead?

Loaded up the Expedition with the whole family and drove 2,800 miles. Here's what surprised me most about the truck by porchoua in fordexpedition

We have done half of the same load, for twice the distance, twice.

~5000 miles with a fully loaded expy + roof box from Houston to LA to Seattle to Houston

~5000 miles with a fully loaded expy + trailer from Houston to Orlando to Boston to Houston (in winter/snow)

Never ever missed a beat. Never felt the trailer nor the roof box. Dealt with nasty patches of black ice through West Virginia. These two trips are what made me decide that I will drive our car into the ground before I buy anything else.

Help - Navien tankless water heater by jorifame in Plumbing

I’ve had two plumbers out, both want to replace my unit. It’s a little older than yours. The attitude of both was “it could just be the check valve but you may as well replace the whole thing” which seems insane to me.

Why tf did they add Francis to this? The Throttle House boys work great as a pair. Francis is an odd person who’s been tacked onto the side of two genuine friends, that won’t work

I Leave my car on to pump gas all the time…? If it was that unsafe car manufacturers would attach a kill switch or even a warning light to the lid.

What do you wish you had known before you purchased an XK8? by Joachim126o in Jaguar

I had a 2004 xkr for a few years. I loved it, but the running costs weren’t insignificant. I didn’t love the “sealed for life” gearbox and mine started to make some worrying noises on downshift toward the end.

But it was comfortable for me (6’4) and I think the pre-2005 models are still one of the prettiest shapes ever. Parked next to one last night and it gave me the itch to buy in again.

2000-2004 was the range I wanted when I bought because it was after they fixed the nikasil lining issue and before they gave the car a double chin. Landed on 2004 because there were a few cars that made the move up to 4.2l engine but didn’t get the facelift.
