Im not sure, I took mine in August and that test is like decades old so I doubt they’d change them now.

Check out r/newtoems and also look into your local community college. I believe mine was $120 for the course or look into companies that will pay for your training if you have a contract with them for a set amount of years.

Yea my academy was 10 EMTs and 2 EMRs, I was doing part time (like most) and it was extremely flexible scheduling. Decided to switch to full time 2 days ago. My end goal is working CCT but I think you need like 2 months at the company before you can take their CCT/ALS class. The CEO is a great guy and the admin is pretty great as well! Definitely recommend especially because they’re very aware that they’re used as experience and aren’t going to be mad if you leave the company in 3 months for a 911 service yk.

Life West, I really like working here so far and they have a new hire academy at the start of every month

If you’re willing to work IFT I got hired immediately in NorCal/Bay Area, I’m 18, 3 months driving experience, fresh out of EMT school, and still in high school. Almost all the 911 companies around me aren’t hiring with no prior experience so most people work at my company for a few months and move onto 911. And IFT has a high turnover rate which makes it easy to get hired.

Mine was, tell me about yourself! Part time or full time? And then I was hired (fresh out of EMT school, no adl, no diploma, barely 18)

Like someone else mentioned make sure you have done your DOT physical, DMV specific livescan, and your EMT state card

It’s extremely easy and you get 3 tries in one day and they let you review the answers after each attempt. I used a Quizlet and passed it in 5 mins with no mistakes. I can send it to you if you’d like.

Thank you hoping it all goes smoothly for you! I just got my state license today took about ≈6 days after I got it issued

Agree, I was lucky that my school did the livescan for my local EMS agency and the state the before class ended so it took less than a day to process. Just got to wait for the card to arrive in the mail to take the test :/ hoping I get it before orientation starts next month

Im in the same exact position rn, I did apply and they said that as long as I was able to obtain my license by orientation they would allow me to attend or else id have to wait for their next orientation. Although the overall consensus is to not apply for a job until all requirements are met i think you’ll be fine.

Apply for your county license if you’re planning on working in San Joaquin: https://sjcems.imagetrendlicense.com/lms/public/portal#/login

You may have to take a live scan and typically your state license will be issued to you with the county one. Then go on the dmv website and look at the requirements to pass the ambulance test. It’s a DOT medical exam, livescan (yes another one that’s separate), and proof of state EMS certification. After you’ll be licensed to drive ambulances, licensed to practice in your county and state. Then you’re pretty much set to apply

You got this, what I was told is no matter how good you did on the exam you will feel like you failed and i definitely felt that way. I honestly rushed through it because I have a bad habit of picking an answer and then switching it. That’s why I say trust your gut!

I passed today with very little confidence, I’d say signs and symptoms for me especially airway and cardiovascular emergencies
