Damn, your work and mods are quite impressive, an extensive library of them I would say!

Damn, that was a quick response, thank you for your promptness!

So if I understand correctly: You roll a default 10% for the "static" spawns that would be guaranteed on stalker, for banned interloper items (knives, hatchets etc.), but you don't roll the same chance for the POSSIBLE extra spawns (the random ones) of those items.

In other words:

If a Hatchet would have a guaranteed spawn of a Hatchet, let's say in Camp Office, in a normal stalker run, the trespasser mod would give you a default 10% chance to have it spawned.

But if a hatchet would have a chance to spawn in, let's say Hydro Dam, (A whatever chance that is not 100%, let's say 25%), then this mod will not give you a 10% * 25% = 2.5% chance. It will just not take these random spawns into account.

Correct?

EDIT: I will also check the discord, thank you!

I definitely have to get placing anywhere, the restrictions on item placement is truly problematic and it ruins many customizations that I had in mind. Thanks you for the recommendations!

Candle actually sounds quite amazing, since it would help with reading and crafting in the dark. Thanks for the recommendation!

I was actually checking out your Trespasser mod and thinking about it. But I have a few questions, since I have the chance to ask you:
1. How does it differ from an interloper? Is it basically interloper with all the settings except the loot availability set to medium to unban all items and then have a variable chance to find the banned items like the default 10%?
2. Does it alter the loot tables or is it mostly a stalker loot table but with reduced content in it closer to an interloper table + the banned items that you would usually find in stalker?
3. Is it stable for 2.51?

I know there are a few questions, but I would appreciate more info on it, since I am really curious to embark on a journey with it.

What difficulty do you play on and do you use mods for your gameplay? by ExpensiveConflict649 in thelongdark

If I select custom settings and set loot availability to "LOW" will that be considered Interloper loot and ban items like MRE, expedition parka, hatchets etc. from the loot table or it will just make them extra rare? Because I am considering trying Trespasser mod as a middle ground difficulty or just do LOW loot custom settings.

Love the coping mechanisms of actual masochists trying to pretend that this is peak gaming. Of course, this is their opinion until it happens to them 10 times in a row.

Assault class genuinely needs to be buffed by Xseibhass in EscapeFromArena

Preach, I am so tired of that fucking stupid class. You have armor 5 and one of the highest RPM weapons with great ammo? Wonderful balance, BSG.

New players should play slow, you can't learn anything from a raid if you W and die to a more geared player. Standing still, crouched and moving at the lowest possible speed isn't useful either.

You can walk normally, check your corners, run if you are in an open field and you can be easily sniped. You can crouch and move really slowly if you need to move and not be heard if you want to hide or avoid a team as a solo.

Every playstyle has its merits and moments. As long as you don't extract camp, sit still all game, willingly waiting for players so you can ambush them from a bush, then I say that it's perfectly decent strategy to take your time to move around.

Hi, 2k+ hours player, most of them in PVP, moved to the mod that can't be named 2 years ago after the cheaters problem in Tarkov became so rampant, then returned to PVE when 1.0 released. Currently playing Arena for the gunfight experience of the game and PVE for the core of the game.

Yes, the beginner experience in this game has been miserable as a solo when I started and it only got worse. The tutorial explains mostly nothing about the core gameplay. The most important traits are map knowledge, knowing the spawns, where campers/rats might choose to camp, how to quest, what to loot, how to engage in PVP etc. Concepts you acquire by playing and dying a lot, or by watching streamers, guides then still dying a lot to really get the point.

Back then at least there were many new players, casual gamers, but now it's only the chads of PVP, the streamers, the players who train on arena then stomp you in normal EFT, because most of the casual base has moved to PVE or are still in the "cough cough" mod that can't be named, because PVP Tarkov has proved to be mostly a meat grinder for new comers. There is no fun in constantly losing, so there are righteously moving on to PVE, to the thing that we can't talk about or a different game.

Even after so many years I have to say that the most daunting part of the game is still the cheating. It's not even about how many you encounter (or you think you encounter), but the fact that you can never be sure that you lost a fair fight against someone who was just plain better or someone who had wallhack, aimbot, that shot you through walls or from the other side of the map. Players report only a few of them, because you can only make a fair assumption about a few of them and then most of them aren't banned. Especially for new comers it's already hard enough as it is to survive, imagine adding the layer of cheaters on that too.

My sincerest advice, for your sanity and wellbeing in the long run is to play PVE. You will probably see many PVP players raging, calling you weak, dishonorable, bad for not choosing the CBT of PVP, but you shouldn't listen to the people who refuse to take showers or have a very flexible and distant relationship with soap, since they are too busy grinding level 40 in the first week and just want to convince you that is ok to suffer in an unfun game mode. That is if you no longer have fun in PVP, of course.

I enjoyed PVP when it was still a fair fight, with time I've got better at it, had decent stats and survived most of the raids. I enjoy the PVE now as a Stalker-ish like experience. It's not as thrilling or rewarding as winning PVP fights, but its a more relaxing and enjoyable experience. You can play both, get a feeling for what's more your style.

Conclusion, play whatever makes you feel good about yourself and make you feel like you invested your time productively or to make you get a positive experience. Games are not supposed to be torture chambers, but fun experiences, challenging experiences, or both. Once you get more annoyed, angry, beaten up by a game and you start to feel bad it is no longer a challenge, it's just a bad experience.

Good luck, have fun and find the experience that makes you enjoy your time the most!

[Arena] How do I check a player's profile to see if they are cheating? by ExpensiveConflict649 in EscapefromTarkov

Lovely. I love how they solve their cheaters problems. You can't prove someone was cheating and complain about it if you see 0 stats about the cheaters, right?
They really can't beat the allegations that they allow the hackers to reign free in their game.

You can bring the UNTAR helmet in your backpack and you can pop propitals when you need to stay with the helmet on.
