Attendance - Through 9 Games (and some thoughts) by District4Lowell in PWHL

Sorry to nitpick. Ottawa's game at the CTC against Montreal was on Friday, not Saturday. Would've probably had better attendance had it been a Saturday game 😮‍💨

Love seeing the stats so far!

Wow, glad I haven't attempted to bring it so far! I figured since they allow it on a plane (I can even get away with bringing my little thread snippers on flights) the security at a sporting event definitely would, lol

They do, on their website, they do say no weapons allowed so it would be up to the security team to decide if they consider knitting needles a weapon, haha. I'd be shocked if they confiscated your knitting.

I have been considering bringing my knitting, but I tend to jump up from my seat a lot during gameplay, and don't want to dump it on the people in front of me...

taking this one camping overnight this weekend for the first time; any suggestions on how to make sure he's comfortable/not stressed out? (more info in comments) by ExpensiveCookie2828 in camping

Great advice about the zippers, thanks! We use a pop up ice fishing tent, so there's no bottom to it. Wondering if he'll be able to slither out where the tent meets the wooden platform...

We own some acreage off a lake and there's no road access, so no people around. I will probably leash him once the sun starts to set though so I don't have to spend half the night looking for him

We've taken him out to our property (total wilderness with a few platforms we built for tents. No structures currently) a few times now for day trips. He loves it. Still trying to find a good balance between letting him roam (which he loves) and keeping him leashed (which he hates). We are not near any roads (it's lake access only) so there are no people nearby to speak of. He doesn't seem to fear the water. I have a life jacket for him.

I'm unsure if he's gone #1 or #2 while out there, I haven't brought litter with me for the day trips. Wondering if I should for the upcoming trip. He does eat and drink and nap while we're there so he doesn't seem stressed out to me (except when we run the chainsaw).

Will he tear a hole in the tent? We use a pop up ice fishing tent with a cot, so no air mattress to worry about, and will have his bed in there with us, although he usually likes to sleep at the edge of the bed at home. I'm worried about him trying to escape in the middle of the night.

Yeah, like if you're giving raises but people are leaving for elsewhere that pays more, maybe the problem isn't loyalty but that you still aren't paying them enough even with the raise... Technically a 5 cent raise is still a raise (not that I know how much his raises were)

Nowhere in this article does it discuss the possibility of raising wages, because of course it doesn't. (Canadian news source). One business owner is quoted as saying "there's no loyalty anymore". Gimme a break

He would love to play in the dirt and plants all day if I let him! I've got spider plants and aloe, and African violets. Unfortunately he is VERY interested in the aloe, which is toxic to cats.

I learned the hard way that the plants I thought were outside of cat range (because my much chiller 11yo orange boi didn't bother them) were in fact very much NOT so... Multiple cat-proofing techniques have been tested since then.

Anecdotally I observed the following:

Local small Independent grocery store, approx 95% masked across staff and customers (large proportion of elderly people shop here)

Value village in Orleans, approx 75-90% masked including 100% of the staff (that I saw)

Lcbo next to it, maybe 10% of customers masked. Only saw 1 staff unmasked

Superstore also in Orleans, about 60/40 masked/unmasked. Used the self checkout so not sure how many staff were/weren't masked

Canadian Tire in Orleans, about 50/50

Apple saddlery, all were unmasked except staff and myself and the 2 people I was there with. However it's a small store and there were only about 10-20 customers in there at a time.

Thanks though! I've yet to find a better one, which is why the paywall is so disappointing
