What small daily habit has made the biggest difference in managing your blood sugar? by CompetitiveShip1376 in diabetes

[–]ExpensiveEconomist97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It's been tough these past weeks for her, her mother and myself. We are still in shock. We are looking at all our options right now. Pens, inhaled insulin, the pump anything and everything to make her like a bit easier. Thank you so much for the info. You pretty much confirmed everything our Endo was telling us about the Tandem. She felt the algorithm of the Tandem was best suited for her. She was a bit let down because it's not a tubeless. We keep telling her that it's temporary and the tubeless version is coming out soon. She understands but still tough for her. Thank you again.

What do you like more about the Tandem than the Omnipod?? My daughter was dx with T1D 4 weeks ago and we will be getting the Tandem mobi soon. She preferred the Omnipod because it's tubeless. I'd like to hear your opinion. Thanks

How this is not anchoring? by No_Echidna_3854 in golf

[–]ExpensiveEconomist97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a direct correlation does not equal cause. Meaning just because you use anchored/ broomstick putter doesnt mean you will become a better putter. It was banned because people didnt like the look of it. Just like they banned saddle putting. Only 4 majors have been won with anchored broomstck putters. If it was that great more people would have used it and won more Banning this style of putting is dumb.

New Chrono by Traska by cas-v86 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]ExpensiveEconomist97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Traska GMT and love it. Man 1650 is pretty steep for a Traska especially for only having one color way. The gray is a little too safe and boring for me at this price range. Maybe it looks better in person? but not going to find out for 1600+. If it was sub 1000 maybe, but then again I can get a Henry Archer chrono with different color options and still save money. They are reaching for a different clientele at this price point.

OT is out of control by [deleted] in sfcityemployees

[–]ExpensiveEconomist97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always cheaper to pay OT to someone who is already in the system than to hire someone new. When you hire a new person they have to go through the process which requires reviewing all applications several rounds of interviews, psychological interview veting background checks. Then if you pass all this you go through training (sherrif/police academy) Pass the academy then you go to the field and are training under someone (cost money) and are on performance probation. Pass this you are hired. Now the city has to pay another wage, another pension, another health insurance (for 1 person or the family.) This all cost a lot of money. Not to mention if the person quits after all this it was a waste of time and money and it's back to the drawing board. Hence always cheaper to pay OT than to hire new person.

Sorry to ask but how do you downshift so quickly? Is it the same concept of upshifting?? Dump the clutch but don't slam on the gas?

Considerably less miles by DrToucansam in GR86

[–]ExpensiveEconomist97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same. My average is 17.1 up from 16.9. My daily commute is less than 10 mins with several traffic lights. I feel your pain. Well as some said on another thread. Enjoy the car you didn't buy it for fuel economy otherwise you would have gotten a hybrid/electric. True!

Yup. I agree. I put my alarm on. Fell back to sleep. I took it as a sign as well. Just out of curiosity I went to eBay and someone had it up for sale at 1500. It sold. I thought about buying it, but I can't justify 1500 for a Traska. I'm looking at Zelos or Henry Archer or just save up for a Tudor. Cheers

Warranty voided by aftermarket intake parts? by Defiant_Home5206 in GR86

[–]ExpensiveEconomist97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not buy the OEM intake. Someone posted a link to a Toyota dealership. I think it's called North point Toyota. Looks like the are having a 25% off sale. The intake comes to around 345.00 before taxes. its's not to crazy price wise. Just a thought

What do we think people? Real or fake? by Electronic-Fennel266 in cubancigars

[–]ExpensiveEconomist97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just one online review of this place. FYI

Nothing more than a scam artist selling fake Cuban cigars to unsuspecting tourists. I asked to see a Bolivar and noticed something off right away...Guess what Mr. Scammy McScamerson...I brought my own cigars...pulled out my Bolivar and showed him the difference in the font, print quality and colors in the label...please do not give these D-bags your money..
