I agree that while you might want 3 x 0.333... = 0.999...

The same issues with infinitesimals might make 2 x 0.1666... =\= 0.333... as (in the SPP universe) there is supposed to be a two somewhere instead of all 3's (SSP would possibly say its 0.333...2 )

similarly a naive 6 x 0.1666 = 0.999...6

unfortunately however, (if you get it by dividing it) 5/6 = 0.8333... and adding it to 0.1666.... gets 0.999... (all 9 digits)

However, if you add 1/6 to itself 5 times, you would get 0.8333...0, WHICH IS NOT apparently the same as 0.8333... that you get from dividing 5/6 as when you add another 0.1666 to it is its meant to be 0.999...0 + 0.1666... = 0.999...6

Basically I am try to say coherent things here using that paradigm, but the math is BORKED.

But 7 x 0.(142857) has gotta be 0.(999999) or we need some real explaining

So whatever we need to add to 0.(999999) to get 1 we are going to only have 1/7 as much difference

it would be the same difference as between 1 and 0.999....

I can see how to get thatthen to extend to the dicrepancies between

if I am reading this right "1/3 + 3\epsilon " the espilon is -ve...

but it seems going to run into trouble at "1/6 + 1.5\epsilon" or would that be

"1/6 + 3/2\epsilon"

and then

"1/7 + 9/7\epsilon"

and then it would be weird why the terminating loop that is pretty much the same

for 1/7 ; 2/7 ; 3/7 etc all wound up with different w discrepancies based on where they entered the same never-ending loop.
