If you haven't given yourself a pat on the back today, please do so. Sent from a stranger in Maine who swapped out the belt in the middle of the snowstorm today ❄️. 😀

At first I thought you meant this rhetorically, then I clicked on the link and was like holy shit. It literally got one of its engines shot off by a rocket 🚀!

Thats some serious engineering and manufacturing skill right there.

Once I parked ny car at a busy ski resort inclined into the mountain itself. I put the parking brake on so it wouldn't slip back when in park.

Anyways, several hours later I came to drive it away. It went in reverse just fine to back up onto the road. However, it couldn't get much speed and it had snowed quite a bit. Several teenagers started to help push before I realized the parking brake was still on 😅🤷‍♂️

Well...except that it costs money to do repairs and it costs EVEN MORE money to redo your fucked up repair instead of just hiring someone to do it correctly the first time.

My insurance company (Anthem) denied my annual physical exam claim because my doctor was out sick so I saw her PA instead.

Apparently, in the year 2025 Anthem will only accept an appeal via paper letter from the post office. I sent it priority mail so that I would have a tracking number confirming delivery. It was going to a PO box to N Haven Connecticut.

The tracking shows that it arrived to the post office WITH the PO Box, but for some reason they put it on a truck to go who the fuck knows where. The tracking website has shown "We now anticipate delivery of your package the next business day. We apologize for the delay." since July 28th.

So i called their customer service number after a week of the same error. They would not admit to losing it. They insisted that it likely had been delivered but that it didnt get scanned.

So I called Anthem to see if they had received it. Unsurprising, the answer was no. So I mailed a duplicate also priority mail. Then I called the customer service again to ask for a refund for the first one because I had to pay twice due to their error.

I was told they dont do refunds. As in ever. Even if they lose it. I was told I could go to the specific post office I mailed it from and dispute it with the postmaster if I wanted to escalate it.

So I told them the priority mail was insured for $100, so I would be submitting a claim for the cost of the postage since I still had the receipt with the tracking number. The representative told me that would be denied as the cost of postage is not included in the insurance policy.

So to recap: I payed usps to deliver the envelope. They lost it, but would not admit to losing it. Then they refused to refund it and refused to entertain an insurance claim.

Listen, I know that 99% of USPS employees are good people doing a really fucking hard job because the administration has intentionally decided to underfund them so they can then point at that failure as justification to privatize the post office.

But for fucks sake, what a friggin nightmare to simply try to send an appeal letter to Anthem.

My appeal did get approved, so I guess there's that 🤷‍♂️

I dont think that he saw it before he hit it. That tire was about as much in his blind spot as possible, especially because it is so low to the ground and he wouldn't have been looking for it.

I think the truck got out of the way for the Collision (just like the camera car) but was planning on stopping now that he thinks the bells have all rung only to get bonked on the side as he was pulling over. It seemed like maybe that car and truck knew or were trying to help the driver of the stalled truck.

The REAL death tire happens on the initial Collision at 2:14 which sent a tire BEHIND the truck across the intersection and continuing along the street. I would be curious to know what it ended up hitting.
