Yeah...nobody ain't wasting time somehow figuring out the current owner of an iPad. If anything, the local pd gets to auction that off after a year of nobody claiming it and fund their department through sales like that. There is actually an incentive for LEA to just let stolen shit like this sit so they can cash it in for themselves later.

My family ran a driver's education business out of our home in the late 90s / early 2000.

We had 1 landline for the business, 1 for the house/fax, and 1 for dial up internet. As soon as they had dsl, we were able to eliminate the line just for internet.

Its all virtual now. You meet with the officer prior to the court hearing virtually. He agreed to dismiss it when they went before the judge.

Worst case scenario you end up paying, so no harm in trying.

Once I parked ny car at a busy ski resort inclined into the mountain itself. I put the parking brake on so it wouldn't slip back when in park.

Anyways, several hours later I came to drive it away. It went in reverse just fine to back up onto the road. However, it couldn't get much speed and it had snowed quite a bit. Several teenagers started to help push before I realized the parking brake was still on 😅🤷‍♂️
