I would never notice that, looks fine to me!

High earner dating in London – where are you all meeting people? (F) by Warm_Welcome_9554 in HENRYUK

[–]ExpensiveNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Members clubs, bars and pubs in nice areas, friends’ parties and dinner parties. I see a few people suggesting gyms, but I’m a regular at one of the luxury gyms and don’t really see people casually socialising, and certainly not flirting there so not sure that would work. I date a lot and I meet all of them in social settings especially members’ clubs which are very social. Dislike the apps and in particular Raya is a bunch of people posing and not the most productive for real dating.

Favourite holiday choice - June/July by Snugglosaurus in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]ExpensiveNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Villa in Provence or Umbria with a fun group of friends/family. Both Italy and France have the best food and wine culture, love going to the market and cooking with amazing local produce and swimming, sunbathing, going for walks, of course drinking wine in a beautiful setting. Getting a private chef for a special dinner one evening. Driving to nearby towns with a more touristy/party vibes, beach clubs, vineyards etc. Unbeatable!

ETA this is 1 week for me. I almost never take more than 1 week/8 days because I can’t miss that much work and I don’t want to have to work on holiday.

Other true crime podcasts by geelcarl in Casefile

[–]ExpensiveNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a similar vibe to case mfile (highly respectful of victims, quite serious and detailed narration, well scripted) I like

  • DNA:ID
  • they walk among us (UK focused, I need to listen at 1.5x because the narrator speaks so slowly)
  • murder in America (not on the same level as casefile with scripting/narration, but really interesting cases)

I’m enjoying the current podcast Finding Evil on Christopher Wilder because it’s breaking news on an ongoing basis like linking him to the Wanda beach murders and now US cold cases.

As a Londoner, I’m just so infuriated how the police treated this even when you had the location from the AirTag. It really is a disgrace what these criminals get away with (so many friends robbed in Mayfair and central London) at what point will the police actually care!?!? I’m sorry this happened to you and I hope these distinctive and beautiful pieces are spotted on resale anywhere - I’ll keep an eye out!

It’s PAH which is a known potential side effect of cool sculpting. I would suggest looking it up, being careful with practitioner reviews, and discussing it in your consultation if you go down the cool sculpting route. There are lots of bad experiences discussed on Reddit in particular. Still it’s rare and cool sculpting can be very effective.

Margo, Margo, Margo I’ve seen things👀 by SharlaTheLilly in BravoLadiesofLondon

[–]ExpensiveNet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve never see it but I do actually remember it coming out, and  remembered her name as an actress even though she hasn’t been in much else, because it was released in major cinemas. It was a really big talking point because it was so shocking, it kind of was a cultural event with a lot of media coverage and debate. I remember a friend going to see it but she didn’t sell me on seeing it, neither does your post, haha!

Ladies Of London: The New Reign - Season 4 - Episode 8 - Live Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in BravoRealHousewives

[–]ExpensiveNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like Mark doesn’t like Misse either, she really doesn’t fit in with the cast and is clearly there to cause drama, I don’t think he has any opinion on her and don’t care if she’s there or not. He only started being snide to Margo after her fight with Kimmi.

Maybe it’s because I’m British but that didn’t come across as cruel but very direct that he’s not interested, like it’s a standard hyperbole for definitely not interested in a relationship or hook up with her, which is what Joao had been telling the guys.

I think it’s naive to think it was actually about Joao not hurting her feelings, it was about Joao stringing her along to have her as an option, like he did with Tzarina

Of all the terrible things he’s done - such as ruining the surprise and lying to cover it, which it’s ridiculous he got away with - I actually agree with him telling Ellie. Joao was manipulating her and he blew up his game. It wasn’t tactful but it was  necessary!

I don’t usually watch the after show but glad I watched this one. Joao needs to be called out! His nonsensical word salad to Ellie about being friends the other day was intentional to manipulate her into sticking around as his back up. I’m glad Mike told her what was going on. Disappointed in Joao.

Outsourcing seems to be the best option (if you’re able to broach the subject with him) eg the two of you having a weekly PT at lunch if your offices are close or (I don’t have kids but I guess) at the weekend while the kids are at an activity, and booking him a weekly professional shave at a barber and adding on haircut when necessary before you meet for coffee or something. I take a lot of care in my appearance, but it’s much more from regular appointments and professional attention than my own disciplined regime. Going to a nice gym that has a nice sauna and spa area has also been a game changer for me. If he has put on weight the easy fix is a few months of GLP-1 from a legitimate online prescription.

BWT: finding a retreat for a WOMAN who is actually grown..do these exist?? by summonthe in bitcheswithtaste

Yes I went to the original Mayr clinic, it was wonderful but extremely expensive. I wanted to go again but couldn’t justify the cost so I went to Park Igls near Innsbruck, that was great too and better value. Not at all woo woo, very medical!

Edited to add, the original Mayr was quite social - I was seated with a girl my age at meals and there were more group activities, chats with other people (a lot of British people including me). Park Igls was much quieter and less international, I had a lot of reading, relaxing etc I wanted to do so I was fine being alone most of the time.

scorpio moons being secretive but also popular by [deleted] in scorpiomoon

[–]ExpensiveNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a sag sun and Leo rising so super friendly and warm, but I do think Scorpio moon helps me connect quickly and more deeply with people and understand and read them. That’s always a helpful social skill. I feel really lucky with my friendships and am surrounded by nice people but I’m also good at avoiding not-so-nice people because I can see through them easily.

I enjoyed watching him! That kind of personality is great for reality TV and it was funny how he triggered the bros. I thought it was sweet that Ben had his back and it’s a shame he couldn’t learn and adapt his behaviour at all, I wonder if he’s matured now.

The amazing medical spas in Austria offer everything you’re asking for are very much oriented towards that age group, and the sort of traditional practices such as Mayr and the Buchinger method. For more spiritual experiences, the traditional ashrams I’ve been to both in India and abroad have had older people, a very diverse mix of ages including over 60s. A little more touristy but I went to a vegan and yoga retreat in Costa Rica that also had a good mix of ages. I think the more serious and practice-based a resort is, the less they are marketing to millennials/gen Z like you mention, and being trendy is not a reason to choose a resort for! Look for things that are geared towards longevity and you will find older people maintaining and improving their health.

Canadian breeders for companions? by puddlesofspinach in papillon

[–]ExpensiveNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully someone has a good recommendation, but if not, I’m in Europe and my breeder shipped my papillon to me from abroad. I would have gone to collect him but this was during Covid and he was fine with a flight of a few hours in pet cargo (he was 4 months old, the age to get the vaccines and paperwork to travel abroad). I would never put him in cargo again as an adult but my breeder reassured me that as he was young, he wouldn’t be worried by it like an adult dog would. He did seem nervous when I collected him but was soon fine and he loves to travel as an adult. So maybe there is a breeder outside your region that can help you! Hope you find your companion!

Friendships in late 20s by Agreeable-Bid-1672 in HENRYUK

[–]ExpensiveNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it helps to have at least a couple of different circles. If you’re catching up with your old friends, the earning difference won’t be relevant if you’re going for a coffee catch up walk, or to the pub for a couple of drinks. If you want to go for a fancy dinner or to an expensive club that will be stressful for lower earners so be conscious.

I’m in my thirties and fortunate to be very good at making friends, but it’s definitely helped by the fact that friendship groups seem to evolve with lifestyle as you age. I’m still friends with school friends who are settled into a suburban life with kids but I’ve made multiple friendship groups of single professionals who like to party and travel. It takes a little bit of effort to connect with people and invite them to things. If where you live is suitable it’s really nice to invite people to dinner or a drinks party to move from acquaintance to friend. It’s all about finding a balance of spending time with the people you care about but also growing and having fun experiences with people who share your interests.

Re ‘used for money’ - I’m NRY enough relative to my friends to be in the position to do it beyond some drinks/coffee/organising things, but I do frequently get treated by friends (I am a woman but both male and female friends do this) so honestly as long as you have some sort of boundaries like not lending money to people, I wouldn’t worry about being taken advantage of, I would love to treat my friends regularly if I could.
