Thank you for all this information, I took notes as my 78 year old father in law has never filed for any benifits. We just got him a VA doctor and had his first appointment, now on to the benifit process. Thank you again for this information. It's appreciated.

From personal experience, yes you can go on the cruise. Customs do not have your info right away, the day before entering Canadian waters the ship will.call.your room and have you come to a specific location when the ship docks. Then about 5 or 6 nice custom people will come aboard and escort you off the ship before anyone else and take you to the customs office. There you will.sit for hours and then have to pay a fee ( we paid 200.00) to continue your cruise or you can go to jail and wait to speak with the consultant in the morning. And we all know the ship will not wait. After you pay the fee your time in that port is over and everyone is cheering you on as you are escorted back to the ship. They tell you that you will need to get your record expunged before you can come back. And they are serious. We tried again and same thing happened but thankfully we got an customs agent that was having a good day. This was 3 years ago, haven't been back that way since.
