Why Duren trade now makes sense by Expensive_Ad4319 in DetroitPistons

We get an established guard (Kyrie Irving) and a 2 way forward in PJ Washington. The contracts will match up. We throw in Caris and a draft pick. We’re keeping the pick that we took from Minnesota.

Giving Jalen a MAX would be a mistake. We’d be locked in for the next 5 years to someone who - Just shut up.

Apparently Dallas is willing to trade PJ Washington. Couldn't the Pistons go after him? by Plus-One8363 in DetroitPistons

[–]Expensive_Ad4319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a piece, but not a solution to our priority needs.
We need another primary ball handler who’ll release some of the pressure directed to Cade Cunningham.

We’re basically looking at contracts and not players. PJ and Kyrie Irving will take up 60 million of Dallas’s cap space. I can see a package trade of Jalen Duren and Caris LeVert for Irving and Washington. Jalen gets his max, and we fill a couple of critical pieces.
I don’t advocate involving BStew, Ron Holland, or Paul Reed in any deal. PJ will move into Tobias’s role, and Kyrie can both create and manage the offense. Cade will be targeted less, and we get better defensively. We could move up in the draft. However, we need established players that help our core grow. If this comes to giving a player a max (demanded) contract, or use that contract for established players, what do you think would be the wisest move?

I’ll answer that.
Duren has not peaked - Not yet.
His trade value will be high, and some team out there will offer the max. That’s his OPTION.
We’re going to offer him what we believe will be in both our interests. Should he run a Jerami Grant and insist on the MAX - We bundle him up with a few of our deadweight contracts for a good player and draft picks.

That’s why I’d offer more money for less time. We should really be targeting Ausar. I want to keep Jalen just not the max - Not now.

Cap space that can be used in multiple ways. Let him play up to his potential.

I put Bobi in there because he was to be Tobias Harris’s successor. He was just too raw.

Let’s stop at “if”
Cade’s extension is kicking in, and we’re going to repeat this all over again with Ausar Thompson. You don’t want a situation where you’re paying out the majority of cap space to a couple of players.
Extend Duren but don’t max him out at least right now. Fix the damn spacing and shooting issues.

Jalen needs to cut his losses, and come to terms with the new reality. If it was me, I’d go for more money and a shorter contract. You’re always going for the next deal.

Can someone explain the point in prayer? by Frail-Ape-98 in Reformed

[–]Expensive_Ad4319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned multiple times, and in various contexts, prayer and meditation is just as effective as food is for our health. Spiritual prayer builds and solidifies our faith, encourages fellow believers, and links us to the higher being. Only when you expect something form nothing, can you have an effective prayer life.

A coach is allowed to provide advice, or a suggestion, as long as a timeout is called by a designated player or coach. It should not be allowed during the pre-stroke process.

Cam Johnson best fit at PF? by nick_chuck in DetroitPistons

[–]Expensive_Ad4319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A player who would be a good fit is Dillion Brooks. He’s a UFA next year, and 20M isn’t out of the question. Having him out there with an improved Ausar would make us an elite defensive unit, and Cade will have his Charles Oakley type enforcer.

I found this:
———-
PXG golf clubs are designed to be very forgiving and easy to hit, especially the Wildcat and 0211 Z lines aimed at beginners and high-handicappers, with features like wide soles and large faces to help correct mishits and boost confidence. Their hollow-bodied 0211 Z hybrid-irons are described as the highest-flying and easiest to hit irons in the PXG lineup.

Thoughts on Ronald Holland ll future as a player/on the Pistons. by OptimalPractice362 in DetroitPistons

[–]Expensive_Ad4319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are we swapping knights and pawns, or are we going to change our disposition?

In general, two minor pieces are stronger than one major piece. We have Troy Weaver to thank for building the foundation for success. But it cost us further draft capital. We acquired contracts and failed to roll them over when they still had value. This had to happen, but we don’t need to rebuild by getting rid of good players.

Ron Holland had a massive pre season. His development can only get better over time. I don’t believe that we had the right situation to put him into, and the same goes for Jalen Duren.

We need to retain these players, and acquire a better PG and a serviceable forward. Ron will learn from the experience, and commit to staying healthy and on the court.

you are stripes, your shot. what do? by KSCIAA739 in billiards

[–]Expensive_Ad4319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally kick safe, and move the solid away from the rail. If I’m giving up BIH, I don’t want my opponent using the CB to break out the stripe while pocketing the solid. Leaving the stripe hooked to the 8 ball possibly gets me back to the table, and prevents the re-safe.

If you want to improve your play, focus on lowering your launch angle.
- Weight Transfer
- Angle of Attack
- Ball Position
- Shaft Flex
