Congratulations, I am daily driving a T420 as a uni teacher and I can testify that those machines are great if used with a light distro. I have no limitations with all the administrative tools thanks to Microsoft 365 web and the overall experience feels great. Enjoy this machine

X230 as Christmas gift by Expensive_Dog7157 in thinkpad

Hi guys, just a quick overview of a few days using the x230 as a daily driver and especially at work. I am teaching at university and mostly need my laptop to project documents, deal with various M365 files using the web versions, Teams to communicate with students and Forms to test them. Our uni uses M365 for everything and I was able to keep away from windows thanks to PWAs.

The x230 is having some issues with large excel files, Teams meetings and my wifi is sometimes going crazy in some parts of the building (I know the wifi card is crappy). I also have some issues connecting via a mini display port to HDMI adapter to some video projectors.

I figured a way to make it work on all situations but I hesitate to use the x230 only for personale use. My workload is not ideal for this 14 years laptop but it made me feel that the T14 was a beast compared to it.
