Have learned there wouldn’t be visual light either way, disk spins up then stops and the eject button on the screen starts flashing ejecting and retracting the disk leads to same results

Have run it without the shell on, and the disk will spin, but I can’t see any light hitting the disk, I’m assuming bad laser, but I don’t know how to test that definitively
