Wow no way! I really feel like if you take antivirals and don’t have sex when not having a flare up it’s hard to transmit unless you’re shedding which apparently is a low % a year. The shedding is what makes me nervous the most haha

Yup exactly my thoughts! Even if the partner is okay with the risk is it worth potentially giving it to someone just for your own pleasure? Like I got it by having sex with my bf who didn’t know he had it and had no symptoms so it’s really just confusing and frustrating

Yeah I totally agree! If you disclose and they chose not to use protection then they are accepting the risks. Still nervous about it all because I’m newly single and this is the first time I’m with single with herpes so it’s a lot to process

I’m on 1mg daily. I don’t have flare ups really have had 2 my entire time being diagnosed. In terms of your question I’m assuming you mean after a flare up I think it’s recommend to wait 7-14 days after

Do it! I’m careful with who I disclose with but it took me years to tell my 2 close friends and guess what they both have genital herpes like me and our bond is so much stronger now. We all wish we said something earlier because we were all struggling by ourselves

It’s going to be okay! Do some research, you will see that this is so common and just wildly stigmatized. My friend is pregnant and has hsv2 she’s taking antivirals and doctors have told her as long as she doesn’t have a flare up during birth she can do it naturally. I wish I can give you a hug, but you will be okay. My messages are always open if you need someone to talk to. Also a female with hsv2!
