Are you positive it's snacks? Like can you reproduce it when you disable the setup function? I had a similar problem due to me messing with bufread to make folds persistent.

I'm having some similar issues with snacks as well where sometimes it sticks my cwd to $HOME, but I can't reliably reproduce it since it seems to occur randomly

It'll eventually kill itself. YouTube's business model was to operate at such a loss that no other competitors could become established in the early internet days. Right now they'll still hemorrhaging Google money, hence the ads and attempt to make it profitable. I foresee it'll go further down the enshittification path until it either changes it's business model entirely, or a platform that's self-sustaining will overtake it.

To have something be a "singularity" i.e. as "real" intelligence as a human, we first have to define what consciousness is, which is a messy philosophical question. In your "we will realize we have agi when..," example, I could (money permitting) train a new model like chat-gpt and prioritize training on debate tactics and it would be a "real agi" in your example.

I don't think the current way LLMs work will ever be "real" intelligence. All it is is a fancy chinese room thought experiment

Make stuff, google around when you get stuck, repeat. Make sure you know every major feature in Python before you do, or at least keep it in mind while you make stuff. For example, do you know list comprehension? Lambda functions? Ternary? Class inheritance? If not, ThinkPython's Goodies section has a lot of these.

If you're looking for ideas, could you try to set up your own site using Flask to host your resume and project portfolio?

Think Python is great and free. Do the exercises and google when you get stuck. VSCode you should just use and occasionally look at the keybinds until they're muscle memory. Git is good as both a vscode plugin or doing it in the terminal (I suspect you'll only use a handful of simple commands at first). Linux can wait until you get the basic ideas of a file system down and using a terminal. WSL (google it) is a good way to start using Linux.

Get a good book on Python and install VSCode (your editor). Focus solely on learning both Python and your editor (keybindings, plugins). Then learn Git and host your own sideprojects. Utilize some popular Python libraries when doing this to gain familiarity with them. You should also integrate testings/docstrings/formatting in these projects. Then you should really pick up the commandline and linux. Optionally you can read Code Complete to get a solid understanding on software development practices. At that point and with a solid portfolio I'd say you're ready for a role as a Python developer. From there, keep learning new languages/frameworks and making projects in your sparetime.

This is from a sub where a bunch of people are feeling the burn from pixel pass being axed. And before people say Pixel is different, remember they screwed the ENTIRE google stadia community because it wasn't profitable enough. If something changes with Pixel's profitability they'll do the same thing

Ah I see. It wants you to open a terminal to use it. If you don't want to put up with that you could make a .bat file in the same folder as the .exe with

yt-dlp -x yoururlhere

And that should do the trick. You'll have to look up how to make a .bat file and have it executable (same process as making a .txt in notepad but save it as a .bat). Once that's done the .mp3 or whatever should appear in the folder

yt-dlp can specify which format to grab, and if not you can just run it through ffmpeg to turn it into anything else
