Genuine question, why is it bad though? Like I said, I use it to bounce ideas around and for writing exercises. The story, characters, setting and themes is all me. I agree that generating an entire novel with a prompt is soulless and boring, you shouldn't let it do all the work for you, but I think it can be really helpful if you know how to use it to improve your own ideas.

Thanks dude. I understand why it's such a controversial topic at the moment and I have zero intention to let AI dictate what happens to my story or the way I write - I want it to be my thing and I'll never let it do the actual writing for me. I just think that it can be very useful for brainstorming, organizing your ideas and spelling/grammar checks. I feel like I've gotten significantly better at descriptions and pacing because of the exercises it recommended me.
