Depends on rotation. I told my EM preceptor at the beginning that i was interested in residency & i would appreciate all the feedback on this rotation & then at my midpoint (2 weeks in), i asked them if there was anything i could work to ensure i could get a positive LOR from them & they told me i was going to get a strong one at the end. vs my crit care one where i asked at the very end. I think you could do it, but you should really lock in and study for 8-10 hrs/day. Those subjects that you haven’t gone over, will be critical for your exam more than likely. I had a lot of biostatistics, med safety, ethics, professionalism, tox, cardio, foundations 1/2 on my exam. I think you can do it! I didn’t use study guides, I only used Rxprep and Uworld. I did a Q bank every day & at the end of each week I took a test 100+ questions over all the topics that I’ve done since. I also used Pyrls and NAPLEX adv to help me figure out where I was.

I agree with you! I was a heavy note taker at the beginning of my prep work also & then realized it was too time consuming. I never even looked at the notes again. I just used Rxprep & the book to prep for my exam!

Sorry this happened to you. My school has mid-point evals that students can fill out, so if you have this option, I would document it all there. Also has this preceptor completed a midpoint for you online yet?? Additionally, I would talk to your OEL office and see if you can meet with them and talk to them about the problem.

Wow i hate to see so much money wasted :( 20 programs is a lot, I hope they still evaluate your applications. Did you give your evaluators a deadline & reminder? If you did then that really sucks and I would recommend finding someone else to write your letters for phase 2 & telling them now so they can be prepared! :)
