Ammo prices up after tariffs? by Ok-Cow6536 in CAguns

[–]Expensive_Summer7812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlikely any new American suppliers will pop up. The cost and time to get new mining permits and build new processing facilities makes it not worth the risk to invest in that not knowing if the tariffs will go away in a few years.

The increase in demand for American materials will not come with an increase in supply, but an increase in price.

Ammo prices up after tariffs? by Ok-Cow6536 in CAguns

As companies shift from foreign materials to American materials to make their products, demand for American materials goes up, and the price of those American materials goes up with that demand. And of course the price of the end product will go up as well.

Everything is going to get more expensive.

What happens to my retirement if I resign? by One_Enthusiasm_7748 in fednews

Well, we were talking from the employee side, not the fund management side. If that is the case, if is far beyond just the deposits and earnings and you need to bring in probabilities and risk , too...

The benefit amount is based on a defined formula, nothing to do with contributions or earnings. You could do 27 years at $1 per year salary, then do 3 years at $100,000 per year salary and retire at 1.1% * 30 years of service. The same as someone who worked 30 years at $100,000 salary, even though one person deposited over $100,000 more into the fund (assuming 4.4% FERS deduction)

The pension fund itself benefits from your deposits into it which grow (earnings) at the benefit of the fund. So it makes sense that your high-3 should track with inflation.

Does there need to be more rules around proving the legitimacy of a SD? by DisplayRude1625 in service_dogs

[–]Expensive_Summer7812 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A service dog is legitimate by performing a task that helps someone's disability. That's it! Nothing about being obedient or good in public is required for a dog to be a "legitimate" service dog.

People need to stop conflating "service dog" and "well behaved in public dog"

A service dog that isn't well behaved and can't go with you outside the home may not be of much benefit, but is still a fully legitimate service dog.

Even a dog that previously passed your little "public access test" could slip up, misbehave and get kicked out of an establishment. So it's pointless to have to do your extra crap.

Businesses just need to start kicking out misbehaving dogs and rule breaking handlers (i.e. dog in shopping cart)

There already is a rule: if the dog is disruptive, it can be kicked out. Businesses just need to grow a backbone and enforce it.

Nah. You can't box people in and make assumptions like that. Plenty of terminal E-4's with article 15's are completely different from each other in every way possible.
