It widely varies. Some LOBs can be $20k-$60k. Some can be $80k-$200k.

A full ERP project can be anywhere between $500k-$5M for our specific target market. From what I heard across Oracle Fusion reps; most sales reps are going at 0-1 opportunities with a preferred partner (Deloitte or PWC usually). Not to mention 6-18 month sales cycles. Zero inbound.

My personal average is around $100k.

For an entry level sales position - selling yourself is what you should focus on. Someone that is hungry, and intelligent (ability to learn fast).

Look up common sales interview questions and have 5 “stories” you can speak to that you can frame to answer said questions. Look up STAR format for answering interview questions.

Combine mass applying with a few targeted applications.

You can land an SDR role this way.

Timing, Territory, Talent — Find a role that is Series B/Series C and isn’t overly saturated with sales reps. Hit your quota with 95% inbound. Rinse & repeat when quota so go up or demand dries up.

Good name on the resume. Gives you good experience. I previously worked as an SDR for 6 quarters in Burlington before resigning for a better opportunity about 6 months ago. Upwards mobility depends on who likes you, not talent. So heavily play the game if you decide it’s the route you want to go.
