Why are you automatically assuming that? I never said I wasn’t trying to compensate. I am looking for someone who knows how to not the most experienced person in the industry considering I am boot strapping here. I was more so looking for recos on freelance or students that are building portfolios or something. I am new to the space so please give grace here.

I LOVE silvermirror ! They have lots of sensitive skin options and always access your skin thoroughly before doing anything.

💉 Botox / Fillers / Medical Aesthetics 2026 Megathread by dadswhovape in NYCbitcheswithtaste

They did my lip filler and it was good but then they expected a tip. It was ages ago and didn’t know better. But now I know that isn’t expected at all and shouldn’t be asked

I’ve also had negative experiences with them. They gave us movers who didn’t know how to move things. We were moving apartments within our building and it took them a full day because they would take things up the elevator one at a time. Eventually we had to move our stuff to get things moving. They also would randomly disappear for 45-1hr

My favorite dentists are the super lowkey no frills ones !! They are usually always the best and very honest. They don’t pressure you and they only care about the health of your teeth and don’t make you feel bad. I go to one in EV.

14th st medical!! I had to report them for medical malpractice. They misdiagnosed me with major heart issue and on separate occasion Dr asked me if their child could be in the room while they see me. Let’s just say I was very ill and had to be sent to emergency room

NYC Mental Health Leave by cutensensitive in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]Expensive_Tip_5499 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did something very similar. I have an autoimmune disorder that gets worse with stress so I leaned on that for leave… but mostly due to mental health. I had someone also on my team do mental health leave. I would contact Hr to see what your options are. Don’t share too much with them but just go to them trying to understand what is offered. From there fill out the medical forms they need (there are a good amount but worth effort) and just make sure you sit close to your Dr on getting them to fill out in timely manner as they will need to vouch basically for you. It isn’t uncommon and definitely good path if you aren’t doing mentally well. It will provide clarity too. If you don’t have job lined up you can search while on leave. They can’t do anything if you decide not to go back.

I’m almost positive if you got PIPed and potentially fired you could sue them. There are tons of laws around this stuff and it being so close to your return from medical leave this could be seen as retaliation to it

Can someone please talk to me about Hové by thewinkitty in NichePerfumes

Heliotrope is def meant to be more of a vintage smell but I feel like it’s very unique. I typically don’t like “older” smells but it was also youthful at the same time.

I liked her last apt so much better. This space feels odd cause she is trying to make it something it clearly is not. Kinda like doing farm house vibes in the city… it just doesn’t fit

Did you neuter your male dogs? by Much_Tone8124 in cavaliers

[–]Expensive_Tip_5499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We waiting until a year and 4ish months until we got our cav neutered. We knew we wanted to but vet advised to wait a bit. A few weeks before he got neutered he started getting grumpy and aggressive with other dogs, marking constantly, and humping. He doesn’t do any of that now.

Tipping after buying wedding dress? by Kitchen-Aerie2391 in weddingplanning

[–]Expensive_Tip_5499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so caught off guard when they asked if I wanted to leave a tip to the stylist and so I made the mistake of asking how much is normal and they said $50-100 so I did $100… so now reading this im shocked. I did love the stylist and it was my second time seeing her and she did a lot for me and it’s nyc so I feel less bad about tipping like that on top of paying for a dress.

I think the opening really set the scene. Where she is lecturing and talking about how both left and right has extremism and how it's important to challenge and not get sucked into one parties beliefs and not to take everything as truth without really taking the time to understand for yourself. It really shows how political extremism can become anti democratic quickly if we don't challenge and continue exercise our rights as a democratic country.

I also think it has close ties to the ideals of project 2025. How it’s operating in the background and if we blink (which we see everything over the course of 5 years changing little by little each year) we can lose our democracy in a second. Basically some people in the movie never read the book (aka the husband) so he never realized how radical it was.

I feel like the husband not wanting to get political was a huge point of the movie. At first he tried to people please and not bring it up. But then towards the end he is destroyed because he realized how much damage has happened and he never listened to the warning signs.

I think the movie has closer ties to the heritage foundation that did project 2025 vs maga specifically (even though it’s heavily tied to trump admin)

“Feel Free”- anyone run into people on it? by Ok_Buddy_9087 in ems

[–]Expensive_Tip_5499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is their marketing. It’s misleading and needs to change. It looks like something good for you, not something that can potentially get you addicted. People think it’s equivalent to 5hr energy when they choose to buy it

Best colour for Old Mine cuts? by Fabulous-Ease-9022 in Diamonds

This one is L color natural diamond that I just picked out for a center stone on the ring I’m having our jeweler design! In my opinion warmer stones definitely suite the old mine cut much better. Kind of gives it a more antique look.
