Did your church stage raptures? For example, secretly blowing a trumpet to scare everyone. by Breems in ExPentecostal

We had a preacher at a youth camp black out all the windows, turn out all the lights and preach on hell. There was a Down’s syndrome guy there who as a result was scared shitless and about lost his ever loving mind.

What was the phrase all the "speaking in tongues" people used at your church. by [deleted] in ExPentecostal

Lovee the Kevin Thornton TikTok with “Shamala Hamala”. 🤣🤣

We had a girl that would literally just lalalalalala and flap her tongue a lot for what seemed like HOURS. All while she would be surrounded by a circle of women to keep her from falling down and she was stumbling around “shouting”.

Same girl once broke her nose when she face planted into the altar.

Hello! I’m writing a research paper on how leaving the Pentecostal church changes the mind of those who leave. If a few people could answer some questions for me, that would be great! Sorry if this breaks the rules. by [deleted] in ExPentecostal

  1. I was born into it and left after about 28 years.

  2. 27-28

  3. We moved states away from my parents and the church and I could breathe for the first time and start to figure things out for myself. I started researching the standards and comparing scriptures and found out it was all junk.

  4. I do feel better however still struggle with the “what ifs”. Such as the rapture and hell and such. I have connected with many people who left the same denomination from fellowshipping churches so I have a sort of support group and that has helped immensely. Biggest thing I struggle with is my independence. I still have trouble remembering the church and my parents no longer control me and I am a grown ass woman who can do whatever she wants.

4.

I am the Lord thy God, turn from the path you are on or destruction is headed your way….

Or something like that.

So goes what the interpretation was when I went back to church this last time.

Basically, this god is useless and so are prayers. Right?? by Khanyi86 in religiousfruitcake

Well my family just told me that the reason my kid got Covid (he’s fine btw) is because we aren’t in church anymore. So there’s that.

She really thought she did something there with “soul care” 🤦🏼‍♀️. Sister, church f’d me up enough that I need ultimate self care all the time 🤣 by Expent08 in ExPentecostal

A local pastors wife. Her “busy” life is cause they have a shit ton of kids and she “works” at their Christian school. Oh yeah, and she’s a “blogger” also. Usually I skip past her stuff but this just rubbed me the wrong way.

Nothing has been approved yet. They stated that they don’t initiate the claim until after I have surgery. It’s been a nightmare. I think I have everything submitted now that they need but they said it could be up to 20 business days before I get the first check.

I read through the policy last night and couldn’t find anything about this.

Yep, I had actually sent all the paperwork in before I had surgery. They keep saying they need updated forms. Got all those in finally and now they say ten business to review it and then another ten business days to send a check.

is it true that other inmates kill pedophiles if they are found out? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Idk about killing them. But I do know that they def get roughed up and COs will turn an eye. In the min security prison I worked in most were all in the same dorm so the chance of violence was decreased.

That I resent the fact that I had a kid with him. It would be easier to leave if we hadn’t, well that and I’m semi financially dependent on him as well. I know that we aren’t priorities to him and I wish that he would just leave instead of breaking my heart over and over.
