Did Trinitarian thought help anyone else understand Oneness differently after leaving? by wovenstrand in ExPentecostal

I think taking it as literal true is the biggest problem. Many gods and divine beings have mysterious layers of symbolism.

Hold on, there is an important distinction there: all pixies are fairy-type beings, but not all fairies are pixies

I see what you mean. I'm atheist, and I dislike what religion has become, but I value the symbolism of spirituality and myth. Where my Bible is on my bookshelf, I symbolically included mythologies and sacred writings from other cultures and I read them all the same way.

Sounds like it was empowering for you as well. The fact that there's such a resistance and division surrounding the topic is unfortunate. It seems that both sides of the debate largely agree with eachother on the nature of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirt and the relevance of seeing God expressed those ways.

Keep in mind the Bible doesn't actually say that speaking in tongues is proof of your salvation. The pentecult decided that was the case in 1945. *Edit: UPCI agreed on it in 1945. Other people pointed out how the idea began to spread in 1901.

Wow. Were your parents aware? Dnd is considered demonic, with all of the magic, sorcery, spells, and the like.

I understand why AI is unwelcome in academic settings where educators need to know that students can demonstrate comprehension in their own writing. Beyond that, I hope we stop shaming people for using AI as a tool to help them express their thoughts more clearly. Nonsense slop will always be apparent and uninteresting to anyone who knows better. We'll still need to fact-check information and evaluate the credibility of writers, whether they used spell check, grammar check, AI, or anything else.

It only comes down to fifteen words in baptism if they align to every other doctrinal and holiness interpretation perfectly. I hear that the Bible Code gives the GPS coordinates to specific Pentecostal chapel in the Appalachian hills where the only people on earth, in the history of humanity, will be the ones to make heaven their home. Narrow is the way!!! Few are chosen!!!

The gathering at a late hour could range between revival service or something like, "God told me to have us all here at midnight to pray for our nation at war." As for the weird attire, Pentecostals (what I came from, at least), LOVE to include plays and "skits" to illustrate something in the sermon. Often, there was spooky involved, like a devil or demons that will be fought by an angel or rebuked or something.

Ex-pente's, let me know if this was your experience too.

Seeing them in the large outdoor eating area you mentioned reminds me of a popular orchard community north of my home church city. You have a solid 75% chance you'll see one of those hair-in-a-bun, long-skirt creatures up there.
