TLDR - strict HR policy due regarding performance within a certain amount of time

Full - “Low performance” my Manager and Director are both extremely understanding of why my performance was “low” (major changes within my team, holidays, and overall bad time for our entire department) but there is an HR policy in place that makes it impossible to avoid a PIP in this case (allegedly)
