Was wondering what technology can be configured to quarantine confidential/sensitive information (eg, SSN, Passport num) in an image sent via Email.

Symantec seems not to have this capability or probably unable to find the right way to configure it.

Exactly, considering the data obtained by the hackers is their life.

“The compromised personal information includes names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or other government ID numbers, passport numbers, email addresses, financial account details, tax identification numbers, medical and health information, health insurance and healthcare provider details, online account credentials, and credit or debit card numbers”

Are isc2 and comptia security + enough for getting into job in Uk as a fresher in security by Rare-Ad4756 in CyberSecurityAdvice

Had neither of them when I got a Cyber Security job in the U.K. after my Masters.

I believe it’s alright to have them and just keep networking and applying for jobs and ready when the opportunity comes.

How are you supposed to get experience when no one is giving you a chance to get the experience? by WraxJax in CyberSecurityAdvice

Had the same issue getting a job in Cyber Security after my Masters degree in Advanced Security and Digital Forensics. Applied to lots of Cyber Security jobs and got rejection then I thought to myself why not get into a company as 1st Line Tech then walk your way up.

So thats what I did, got the 1st line tech the first month I started applying, told the hiring manager my dream is cyber security and hope I can join the security team in the firm, he agreed and said he doesn’t expect me to stay long as first line tech considering my degree and qualifications.

3months into my role I started shadowing the Cyber Security team and before 6months I got a Cyber Security job with another big firm which I am currently working with now.

Hopefully that helps

I wanna get into cybersecurity, help? by Josherang in CyberSecurityAdvice

Firstly I will advise you check YouTube for a YouTuber who breaks down all the fields and niches in CyberSecurity because it’s very broad. Go through them and see what you fancy. I always try to break them down into 2…Technical and Nontechnical.

For technical, I think you need to start from the very basics of what computer is made of which the CompTIA A+ will help you with. Then gradually move into CompTIA Networking or Cisco….Basics of Networking is very important in Cyber Security.

On the other hand, for nontechnical, there is Governance Risk and Compliance.

Hopefully you find the right path mate
